Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

I'm still getting poor mouse movement. It's a combination of slightly-off acceleration, stutter and delayed pick-up of the cursor's actual movement. :(

This game has way to many bugs for it to have been released.
  • Major bugs include
  • Blackscreen when changing map
  • Complete crashes to desktop at game load
  • Crosshairs not showing
  • Not being able to see any team information so not know who is on my team or not
  • Really poor loading times
  • No promised server side features being available at this time


Okay so not only bugs, I have issues with the following
  • No spawn immunity, so I often spawn into enemy fire and die (this is NOT fun, it is frustrating and can often happen 3 times in a row)
  • Not being able to tell if anyone is RIGHT behind you, I mean I cant hear footsteps or any sounds until I am dead
  • Poor spawning, so on TDM or even conquest I have no front line and often spawn right in-front of or directly behind an enemy (not fun)
  • Not being able to tell if an AV is full or not
  • Long times between rounds whilst I stare at my unlocks (40 or 50 seconds), but when the map changes it doesn't give an adequate enough wait for slower machines to get in before the round commences

Not had any issues really myself. The only bug I've experienced is steering wheel being plugged in causing the gun to point skywards.

As for the issues you have:
Spawn immunity doesn't seem to be too much of an issue. I've been spawn killed once twice in a row that was it.
Sound can be frustrating, I've got surround set up, but yeah it does seem like you can't hear distances very well.
Spawning really hasn't effected me, had no issues with being spawned in poor places.
I've waited a max of 30 seconds I think, <20 is common.

As for loading times I'm not having massive issues. I mean it would be nice if it were faster, but it's hardly the end of the world. It takes forever to load because of the graphics.

Probably takes 20-30 seconds for me to load the game. Game is sitting on a F3 1TB as I didn't feel it was good enough to use up 20GB of space on my SSD xD

Recon is rather pathetic, it's useless really imo since DICE gave everything it had in BF:BC2 to Support.
 
enjoying the game even though it was overhyped for what it is. Netcode is a shambles at times and the current rampage of cheaters is infuriating. (Artificial Aiming & aimjunkies to name but two of the kinds doing the rounds) and Punkbuster appears to be as useless as ever. So no its far far far from the best FPS ever, and even if everything is fixed i still dont think it deserves such a lofty title.

I played as recon in bc2 with assault rifles all the time, m1, m14 and the daddy of them all, the g3. Much more useful than lying back on a hill with a scoped rifle. You were able to get right in the action and use motion sensors to a better advantage covering the advance.
 

no it aint. the maps? maybe. the gameplay/graphics, no way in hell + 4/5 grenades for each player in a 64 player server = SPAMFEST (best describes karkand 64/32 player unless you find a good server)

Hmmm, thats odd, when I was at Uni all my essays had comments of praise from my lecturers for their grammar and scientific content.

Yet they still never gave me more than a B+ because I never went above and beyond what was required. :confused:

It's NOT acceptable, end of. I don't care if some backwater Mickey Mouse university accepts it because their student standards are hilariously low. haha getting your knickers in a twist much? I work for Oxford Uni so why not chime in I said? (lol) anyway your is perfectly fine.

I think to be honest its a langauge progressing , we scoff at common words people used 50 years ago so pot-kettle-black much??

It's not language progressing, it's idiots who are too thick to learn the difference between words.
