memory advice for asrock extreme 7

Asrock extreme7 gen 3 with i5 2500k and a h100 cooler.

What memory would you recommend?

Mainly for games such as BF3, but want to futureproof myself for a little while.

I bought 8gb of the Kingston Hyper X Grey with mine. Set them to 1600mhz and the DRAM to 1.5v and "hey presto!"

Got them at a good OCUK price too.

But also bear in mind that lower profile RAM (Corsair XMS3, Kingston HyperX and the like) is better if you have a large CPU cooler.

Kingston Hyper X here too in my MSI and it works great

I needed low profile too because my Noctua D14 is a big ass cooler!

The timings are a little lower than most 1600MHz RAM, not that it makes much difference to Sandy Bridge.

Personally, at today's prices, I'd be looking at these:

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) £39.98

But I'm sure you'd be happy with 16GB of the Crucial if you wanted to save £4.

It's Crucial not Corsair, same stuff I've got. Runs faultlessly, slack timmings mean virtually nothing in real world performance
