How to make friends at uni, if you don't like clubs?

As others have said, join some societies or some sports clubs, there'll be plenty of variety and it'll be a laugh.
 
I met my housemates boyfriend and his mates and we've been friends for the best part of 5 year since.


It depends on who you are though I'm pretty loud and forward not afraid to talk to anyone.
 
I met my best friend in the supermarket.

I think she has really grown to like being a prisoner in my cellar.

This made me lol. Depends on the club you go to and the people you are with. Not all clubs are full of chavs. You clearly have only been to the big ones like Oceana ect that are generally full of chavs.

TBH, join a club that you enjoy, there are more clubs than night clubs

Do you play any sports? Join the SU bar committee, go to the gym and talk to people there, arrange for all the people in one of your classes to go out 1 night and get to know them.

Your in university for god sake the opportunities are endless!
 
The amount of girls into beer and gaming pcs with a spot of badminton, I'm guessing is pretty small...

Just realise that sometimes you can have other things to do than what you find interesting, if I only ever did what I wanted, I doubt I would ever have a girlfriend!

Well, at uni, no matter what course you do, you can find time for clubs and societies whether it is the film society, climbing club, martial arts club etc etc. When I was at uni, most people were part of a club/soc or two even those studying medicine which had to be the most time intensive course had time for them.

If you can’t find time for one then you are 100% doing it wrong. The only excuse is being a social recluse.

My theory on SheepBeast still stands though and anyway given this thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18333374&highlight=startername_SheepBeast trying to help out here is a lost cause as by his own admission, he doesn't like social contact.

Congratulations you listen to metal and avoid clubs. You truely are the pinnacle of our society.

I on the otherhand go to clubs and am a braindead chav with a crap taste in music. I'll go jump off a bridge.
