Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

On the Thursday before the game unlocked, I clicked play from Origin, the game passed released date check and logged me into someone else's Battlelog. The picture Neil posted is my name but I don't have BF2 registered to Origin.

Not tried it with the silencer yet, not sure whether i want to lose some range/stopping power. But might consider it.

Only just unlocked the IRNV, it does feel like cheating. Not certain whether I prefer it over the reddot/holographic yet.
Reddot and Holographic seem so similar there is hardly anything to choose between really.

You've obviously registered (Bf3) the game if it's on origin.
 
Yes, raw mouse input is without acceleration, you should use this as it allows better 'twitch' aiming, i.e. you get used to moveing the mouse a certain distance to aim at a certain place.

Though I have not tried up close (for obvious reasons) I don't seem to be able to detonate an Anto Tank Mine with just gun bullets. Think it needs an explosive round to set it off... or a tank.

It will need an explosion such as a grenage, rpg, tank shell, mortar and c4.

I've put mines down behind an enemy tank before, then shot and rpg to blow them up as they haven't moved which then blew up the tank.

As you can probably understand, I really want to get this game. I would like to download it from a digital distribution site. However, I don't want the game to be swarmed with various launchers and bloatware from the download source, such as Comrade from D2D. Does such a store exist, or am I going to have to get this from EA Origin?

you need origin to play it wherever you get the game.
 
Oh god. I've just started playing and am in that hellish place where I don't know the layout for any of the maps and hence am taking an absolute pasting.

Sure it will even out after a while. It's also taking me some time to get out of CoD mode where every weapon is incredibly accurate at range. I was pretty good at Bad Company 2 so hopefully it's only a matter of time to get back into it. I do love being a medic and saving the day with my shock padles :)

You'll need to use Origin regardless, so just get it there.

gamesplanetuk offers a direct download service without any downloader software bloatware (optional direct download)

I used these for pre-order and I was playing at 00:01 on the 28th :D
 
I found it rather hard to adapt from my CSS/COD rambo style of play, but am now enjoying myself a lot, the KDs have jumped up and enjoying playing as a team. I cant pilot for hell though...also cant snipe! but give me an assault rifle and its game on :D
 
I play for fun and objectives more than kills and k/d ratio, like last night was playing with stella and a few others on Kharg island, i was able to get a chopper and they were needing a lift further down the map so i swooped down and landed perfectly, i joked that as soon as i picked everyone up i would proberly end up crash landing in the water as i have no unlocks yet. So when i took off i was told that stella hadnt gotten in so i tried to land quicky on a set of cargo containers, but they werent wide enough and i toppled the heli into the water, i couldnt stop laughing, lucky the others thought the same :D

Maybe i can enable it just so it recognises my keybinds to mouse buttons, then disable it and it might save them :confused: Is there an editable user.ini for this game?
