Vortez.net have a post up with 'leaked' images of the Big Bang XPower II, what looks like MSI's highest-end X79 board. The thing is *huge*.

Not too sure about the styling, a little too close to premium boards from other manufacturers, but it looks like it'll pack a punch.

Its too much longer than a standard board, wouldnt fit into most cases.

I'd rather have the size of the Rampage 3 / 4, just an inch wider, but the same normal height.

it looks like it has been designed for a teenage boy - bullets on the heatsink? a gattling gun on the cpu power heatsink? :rolleyes:

Can anyone confirm the sata3 setup,is six SATA3 running off one chip or will it be split 2/4

Looks like all six will be running off the X79, with 4 extra SATA 2 ports.

Thats good to know i will hold off as i was going to Raid0 4 sata3 ssd,s in a highpoint rocket raid but this sounds better,

Ive got the x58 rampage formula black edition which is good but this will be the daddy, and expensive

anybody know how much roughly it would be for one of these new boards,cpu and ram to fit ?? im liking the look of quad channel RAM

i think these boards and cpu's are going to demolish bulldozer and all the other chips, they just look like they are getting ready for some extreme speeds and power!

HPTX format, probably 3-4 cases exist that can actually accommodate it.

Why they don't stick to E-ATX at least is beyond me.

For a top end board why did they ruin it with the awful guns and bullets.
Would fit nice into my new case though.
