Best board for 2600k and future proof

Hi all

Should I go for a P67 gen 3 with pci 3.0 or do I go for the newer Z68 with pci 3.0

Just not sure what would be a better choice and more future proof ( as far as technology goes)

I don't think there are any P67 Gen3 boards with PCI-E 3.0.

Are you getting mixed up with the B3 chipset revision?

Hi Asus have a P67 showing with Pci 3.0

Fair enough.

It does just seem to be their lower end boards though.

Ones which don't support SLI or proper x8/x8 CrossFire.

I wonder if they will update ROG series it would make sense,

If not im going for a cheap p67 until sonething better comes along as I have the

P67 maximus extreme iv with my new 2700k and I need a home for my 2600k

Gigabyte z68ap-d3 £82 or asus p8z68-v lx £78(was £72 but got so popular ocuk bumped up the price, will be going up to £83 from wednesday.

I see OC are now selling the Z68 Asus deluxe gen3 for £10 more than Z68 deluxe pci2.0 good price
