QUICK Q - Retail or OEM??

Hey guys, about to order my Intel i5-2500K, shall i get retail or OEM?
This price is barely different, and im guessing i get more warranty with retail.

So what shall it be?

Price difference?

Retail 3yr warranty, OEM 1 yr warranty.
retail comes with stock Cooler, OEM is bare chip, so budget for a 3rd party cooler also.

difference is that retail comes with a standard cooler, if you plan on getting something aftermarket you might as well get oem
+ slightly different warranties

For the sake of £6 I'd go for the retail one. Then you have a back up cooler also.

Yes i was thinking the same, the price diff is marginal.

A bit of a grey area, technically yes but realistically no (unless you burn out the chip with ridiculous amounts of volts - they do inspect them) - especially as the K chip has been sold/devoloped for that purpose.

£20+ diff and I might think about oem.

These chips are damn expesnvie atm even for oem
