Hi Guys

I'm a bit outa the loop on gaming pc's but i'm looking at getting myself a new one and help would be much appreciated.

What i have:

1TB SATA HDD
DVD-RW (SATA)
32" 1080p LG TV (which i intend to use as my display)
Windows 7

Have no issues with AMD though my preference is Intel/Nvidia unless im pursuaded otherwise. overclocked and water cooled would be prefered, SLI/Crossfire is a must, im not paticularly interested in SSD at the moment and if it will make the rest of my spec suffer would prefer not to include and just get one further down the line.

My main reason for this purchase is BF3 so would like to Max it out @ 1920x1080 if possible.

Budget: £1000-1200

Thanks

• 3GB GTX580, look at the BF3 GFX round-ups, this card will eat the game up,

• Gen3 motherboard will be PCI-E3.0 compatible with an ivybridge CPU.
• Gold rated, modular PSU.
• SSD for the OS and games without making the spec suffer:)

Nice Rig, tho i need the basics too, Mouse & Keyboard etc. litterally have nothing except what i listed.

a little look at other threads where the op is asking for spec in your price range would stop the same things being 'regurgitated'.

Need kb/mouse/speakers?

but basically

i2500k retail £180

msi g65-g3 £150 but if buy it by 21st november get 20% cashback(buy at £150 then send off to msi for the cashback)

8gb pc3-12800 1600mhz ram ~£40 but remember if getting a air cooler to be careful of ram with fins as they'll interfer with the cooler

cooler gelid tranquilo if wanting to oc to 4.6ghz, higher would require a more expensive cooler

psu as you want sli/xfire 750/850w depending on the graphics card you choose, 6950/560ti/570 sli/xfire you'll be fine with 750w, 580sli you'll want 850w(prob want 1kw if you plan on ocing both 580s and CPU). something like the corsair tx750m(£100), tx850m(£114), lepa g series 900w £130

case personal choise but at you budget something like the silverstone raven 3 £120, corsiar 600t £130

graphics card 6950 £220-£230, 6970 £285-£300, 560ti £180+, 570 £260+

edit Damn it this took so long to type that stulid had time for 2 specs :(

stulid however much I love the toxic have to say the current price is taking the biscuit(to put it nicely), would spend the little extra and get the sapphire 6970 @ £285

shouldn't the op get free delivery?

@ Fowler002 I did and only found rigs that were below or above my budget and the their requirements didnt match my own (most required monitors/OS which i do not, hence why i created a post.

specs wise

are ATI the way to go for bang for buckk, everyone i speak to outside these forums seems to say SLI'd 560ti's are the way to go but the more i look at specs everyone's saying ATI.

(...SPEC)
Thanks, im quite liking this spec, wot sorta overclock am i looking at on the 2500k on water?

does it have to be 2x graphics cards now? Can't you get 1 good one now and get another in a few months?
unfortunately not no, ive come into some money. my budget is pretty tight and doubt i'll be able to spare anything again anytime soon.

stulid would you say the lepa g 700 or the xfx 750 black edition(which would you say is better?) is worth the extra over the xfx 750 core? if xionic can stretch the budget that far obviously(with msi cashback offer will get back some of the money).

my budget is flexible to a certain extent, i can maybe push another £100 into the setup if its really worth it. taking into account what you've spec'd and said, heres what ive got, tell me what you think

The retail cpu is worth the extra few quid for the 3year warranty and box and stock heatsink.

Thats like picking between your children.

I wouldn't know I don't have any ;)

xionic a bit ott but http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-050-OP :)

the keyboard on its own is £110 on here, the mouse is £49 saving £47

I have the g15 v2 orange back light kb(not sold any more) and g9 mouse(they currently sell the g9x, I have the non-x version) cost me ~£100 3yrs agoo.

the ram has gone up to £48 now, as you're going watercooling you don't need to worry about fins on the ram. if you're buying tonight(and don't mind the colour have a look at http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-300-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

the 'this week only' deals change tomorrow so maybe worth seeing what they do, might even have the cpu/mb reduced if you're lucky(tho with the cash back offer on the mb its more likely they'll put up the price).

good point with the CPU.

not purchasing until thursday/friday (waiting for a cheque to clear), so will take another look at what RAM is on offer then, liking the look of that Mouse and keyboard set and not much more expensive that the Saitek ones i was looking at.

Just check back before ordering and new specs will be done.
