Just to throw this out there, has anyone else ever wondered what russia/russians think about always being portrayed as the opposing/evil force in fps and some rts games? BF3 and MW3 being just the latest, to do so. They must almost think we want a conflict :p

Well nazi germany is history and whenever a game does use it, it's in an appropiate setting - a previous war. However russia is constantly being cast into these fictional current/future wars.

Mother Russia loves being seen as a pillar of warmongering strength. What better pr can the country make for themselves? they even veto basic conflicts like syria yet the popular media type casts them as the nation who will conquer the west. Putin must love it.

Not to mention middle eastern factions are being entered into the gaming conflict aswell :p.

From russian side they may be thinking that you are the bad guys ;)

Its pretty obvious, the americans want to jab the Russians as much as possible so if the russians start something the americans can point and shout LOOK LOOK THEY STARTED IT THEY ARE EVIL WE HAVE DONE NOTHING and then try get the rest of the world to help out :p

lol

It's always the Russians because we outsource way too many video games development to China. Who else has the comparable military might of typical western nations?

Yep i remember the uproar from a lot of irate iranians on facebook, prior to the bf3 release.

What do the English think about always being portrayed as baddies in Hollywood movies? I'll wager nobody really gives a stuff.
Brian cox said in an interview on top gear, maybe it's because americans fear intelligence,:D gotta admit though. Some british actors are great at hamming it up as villains, Gary oldman in leon being a great example.
