Hard Drive Pricing going up at an alarming rate!!!!

Yeah that's quite impressive speed actually. My drives are ancient now (160GB and 320GB), read speeds are closer to 50MB/s if I remember correctly. Might have to move the OS onto this!

Indeed, I'm pleasantly surprised. I was just going to use the drive as a dumping ground for backups as well as random media, but it's going to be used as a main storage drive now, the older WD drives will be the dumping ground. :)

Yup it looks like that company has put them up to £92.50 as they are still being sold by them and not another seller, as such.
No low stock warnings to suggest that is why the price hike so it might be their new price.
I had just ordered another at £78.99 around 5 minutes ago and got my confirmation mail :)

I see another main supplier major competitor to overclocker S*** has just increased prices on Seagate Green from £125.99 > £143.99 so they are on move upwards again.

I'm glad I can wait a year with the drives I already have before I upgrade, longer if I wanted to I guess. I'm sure as hell not paying more than £30/35ish for a 1tb drive, flood water should be receded before this time and prices back on track. ;)

Already more increases tonight, I'm thinking I should have got the other Seagate 2tb external too.

I opened the one I bought and removed it very easily from the enclosure, I can now 100% confirm it is a 2TB Barracuda green ST2000DL003.

So a great result, there will still be some out there at the catalogue shop, definitely worth checking out before they're all gone.

None for home delivery or in the 10 nearest stores to me

I just found some Sammie F4 EcoGreen 2TBs still under £100. More than I really wanted to pay but if I didn't get something now I might as well have sold my Microserver and given up on having a NAS for 1-2 years. They were the last 2 in stock as well...

Got lucky, CCTV server retired at work and got me 4 1.5TB F3s (less than a yr old too!)and 2 Seagate 500gb 7200.12's which i think are a bit old but still quiet and passes Seatools long test fine :)

Glad I found this thread. I'm looking for a 1TB portable hard disk and couldn't work out why the prices were so much higher than when I last looked

Oh well, maybe I'd better sit back and wait for a bit.
