Lovefilm - who's had this note with their rentals?

I'm on the £15.99 unlimited package (three discs at a time) and received this sticky label in with one of my rentals today.

So according to that I'm going to be given another disc...for the same price?

That's not like companies to be so generous...am I missing something?

I should note that my rental list looks normal at the moment - three discs available to rent.

Anyone else had one? Am I looking a gift horse down in the mouth?

Or, you can login to their site and update your preferences to the package beneath the one you're on now

I went from the £13.99 to the £9.99, still 2 at home

Your missing the competition against love film is heating up. Especially with iTunes and services like Netflix.
So they need to be better value for money.

 Something very odd has been going on...

I've just checked my account and it tells me that the rental package I'm on is no longer available...so when did they change them over and how long have I been paying too much?

I haven't had any emails informing me, either in my email or Lovefilm message box. I was paying £16.33 a month and it looks like it's £14.99 a month now, even less if we don't rent games.

The three discs unlimited rental at £13.27 looks like a far better deal now.

I still don't see anything on their website saying that they are giving us another disc so I still don't understand what that label was all about in the rental this morning...

There was a thread about this the other day. They emailed love film and complained and got some free months IIRC.

Edit: yeah, check the other love film thread. A lot of the recent posts have been about it.

You're not really losing anything as they will give you 4 discs at home if you stay on your current package, if you drop to the "new" cheaper 3 disc at home package you won't get the extra disc i believe. Eventhough they should have told us they were dropping the prices.

Aye, this. It's not a bad deal with the extra disc for the same money but it seems purposely misleading to not mention the change in prices of all the packages.

Sorry to make a new thread about it, I noticed a couple of people commented about the Lovefilm thread, didn't see it honest! (found one from 2008 though :/ )

Anyway, thought I'd update and say that my rental list now shows 4 available rentals so I guess it's set itself right...just wonder how long I've been paying more money that other people for a three disc service...? :(

I don't get why people would complain about them improving their service when they are under no obligation to do so.

I didn't like the fact they've changed the packages, not told us, and we could have effectively been paying too much for several months. Not really good customer service.

If we are indeed getting an improvement to our service, then thats not a problem, but they really should have told existing customers who arent contracted in on thier old terms, that the packages have changed.
As it stood, until I read around and heard back from Lovefilm, I didnt realise I WAS getting an improvement to my service, and from my POV, if this changed a month or two ago, I could have kept the same 3 disc unlimted, added games, and still have paid less.

If they're not varying the contract terms adversely, then I don't believe they're obliged to inform anyone, so the fact that they have varied them beneficially is going above and beyond the call of duty. I'm particularly amazed that they've done it for me where I'd prepaid for a year, as they would be under absolutely zero obligation to vary a fixed term contract.

Mine says it changes from the 14th of Nov, think its possibly the day after my next payment. Maybe you dont qualify until you get to actually make the next payment, not sure.

Saying that I lodged a faulty disc message last night as I received 3 discs and one didnt work. Today I am being sent 3 more discs and I only posted the other 3 discs back today.
