Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

I have a minor niggle with Origin. It signs me in as invisible all the time, and launching through battlelog I tend to forget to change the status to online.

Anyone else have this happen to them? I thought there'd be a simple option in the settings for it, but bugger me if it's there!

Thanks for that tip, I have a single GTX 570 too so a bit of extra VRAM won't hurt... I actually sometimes get Windows complaining about not enough system resources and colour scheme to do with Aero (when playing BF3).

Finally fixed and up and running. Problem was getting it installed on my lappy which being a Sony Vaio, the mobile GPU isn't supported by AMD drivers. Found a way to stick the mobile 11.10s on there and it now works.

Running at 1650x1080 using mostly mediums terrain high no AA and am getting 45+ FPS on a 64man server. Got my ass truly handed to me by the guys on the TFU 64 man, gonna take a while to get used to the game.

Core I5 450m
Radeon 5650
6gb ram
Cat 11.10 mobile.

Great, will add you later on Origin. My user is 13SenZ37. I normally spend most of my time running from point to point, capturing on Conquest. Which game type do you prefer?
 
Does anyone think that the voices are too quiet? I don't seem to be hearing anyone shout for ammo as all I can hear is guns and explosions. Is this normal or is my sound not set up right or do I have selective hearing!
 
Have you enabled Enhanced Stereo?

Except when you go to trhow a C4 and the tank moves and the C4 falls to the ground and you flap about trying to pick it back up chasing the tank then the turret turns round and blasts you into MW3 :(

So very very true. I like the Engi, I dotn RPG spam rather just use it on vehicles, great fun class to play esp when you get a tank driver who can drive and play well.

It is, but which logical CPUs threads are run on is up to the OS, and this can lead to 2 threads fighting for time on one CPU (Hyperthreads are no substitute for real cores).

I've been doing this myself to level it up a bit last night, got a tally of about 12 tanks over 3 maps! Really get a thrill trying to sneak round a map and get behind a tank to lather it in C4. Only got the Support weapon swaps (Russian M27, American RPK) and that's it, every gun - bar the coop and DICE guns - unlocked. :D

I'm presuming you have an integrated and discrete card? To save me a convoluted google, do you have a link for a how-to on this? I have a Intel HD3000 + ATI 6630 discrete and the only available drivers (through HP) are supposedly extremely poor. I was hoping to use the catalysts somehow. Thanks :)

I basically stick C4 to a tank and then stand in front of it kamikaze style and trigger it.

You may notice a bit of artifacting when the cat is installed. Reboot and all should be well.

And yes HP laptop mobile GPUs are not supported officially by AMD, you just need a direct download.
