Why do so many people hate Skrillex?

for me skillrex are very 'youtube' ie all the kids who watch charles trippy ponce around his house everyday thinking of witty things to say and think thats cool also think skillrex are cool and the pinnacle of dubstep.

now im not a massive dubstep fan myself but when when people like cookie monsta bash out amazing tunes constantly with each one being really diverse and get nowhere , yet skillrex seem to copy and paste for each song and everyone says its great - that annoys me.

I think it's due to him getting more popular.
 
I wouldn't say I "hate" Skrillex, he looks like a 12 year old emo kid lol.

His Reptile remix is pretty good and his recent collaboration with Korn is good, but I don't really feel like his influence contributes much to Korn's new album, it's more like

korn plays a bit, then wub wub wub at the end lol

So I won't be rushing out get any Skrillex or ANY dubstep for that matters. It's a terrible genre that anybody can do on their home PC (or Mac) with the right software.

For the record, anybody who prejudges Pendulum, you have to see them live first. It's a weird thing seeing 20,000 metal heads enjoy Pendulum

it seems a lot of artists end up like this; whether that's down to them wanting to push that direction of from their labels i have no idea, but ultimately skrillex/pendulum/chase&status etc are all making cheesy stuff, nothing like what they did a few years ago.

i'm fairly indifferent to skrillex, but if i had the choice of his stuff or, say, something by doctor p, i'd have the later everyday.

I mainly dislike his music because so many people associate it with Dubstep. Listen to some proper dubstep and you'll realise it's nothing like it. There's no steady rhythm or beat to most of his music, it's just random crap. This is coming from someone who listened to BreakCore for a while...

That's how I feel about it, pretty much. Any genre that gets popular will eventually get commercialised and watered down though. Eventually everyone gets bored of it and something else gets popular, and those who were making the good stuff keep on doing their thing regardless.
