Pistonhead's has changed.

Just a shout out saying that pistonheads search has changed. Very similar to autotrader now.

I'm personally finding it very slow in searching, the "cars available" numbers keep spinning for ages.

But over all a big improvement. I used to have to go into "classifieds" then use the "search" down the to keyword search as I didn't find their catagory searching that efficient.

pistonheads has gone poop since they changed to the pay only option.

Search engine is poop.

Only good thing i get from Pistonheads is that i get free ads with my account

Yeah, it's even slowed down even further for me. Won't update the distance or show/change the results.

Speaking from a web development POV, you'd think they'd at least have put some thought into an attractive design/UI, not to mention giving it better performance.

As usual, whenever something is upgraded or changed everyone will moan until they get use to it and forget they ever had a problem.

Nothing wrong with the GUI, it's far clearer and more readable than the previous, very dated exterior.

They probably have a few performance bugs to iron out. I remember the first time OcUK launched a php site it went down in under 30 minutes

not a fan, to me it looks like they have just copied Autotrader.. and not done a good job of it.

Autotraders search engine is epic though. Pistonheads was pretty bad by comparison.

It was functional, but turd in comparison.

Trying to filter out specific models of a car was a right pain (ie a BMW 330ci)

Really? I would have just gone into the 'E46 3 Series' section and then entered '330ci' into the filter options?
