Pistonhead's has changed.

What the hell is it with websites redesigning to look slightly shiny but perform 10x slower?

Tomshardware, worldofraids, mmo-champion, ebay, autotrader and now pistonheads, why would I want to use it now its slower and more cumbersome than the new autotrader and has less choice? lol

Beyond slow, looks 10x worse than it used to but slightly better AT style searching.
DB prolly needs tweaking for reads or something.

PH's was great for browsing particular make/model of cars.
Now it just sucks!

I'll give it another look in a few days when all has calmed down it does not look promising.

Whoever was in charge of the testing should be in trouble. Pretty poor to launch like that and have people's adverts they've paid for go missing.

Clearly not been load tested ;)
Thing is, after just a few years working in IT, I blame deadlines. They are insanely stupid for things like this. Nobody needed the new PH interface, it's not critical from a business perspective whether it goes live this week or next, or next month, yet a 'deadline' will have been created and testing (as always) will have been cut-back to accomodate. Surprise surprise, we have issues.

Now PH have gone from having a functional but old site, to having a new site that is basically non-functional, and will hopefully soon have a new site that works. Everybody thinks it sucks, lots of unhappy customers, loss of reputation etc. Imagine if they had just set a target completion date, and then extended it until it passed testing? We may not have seen this site for another month, but when it launched, it would have worked and would have probably even looked a bit better. Nobody in the world would have lost anything, and we'd have all gained a cool new PH site.

I feel really bad when sub-standard stuff like the new PH classifieds section is released. It's a shame for everyone involved.

I was on looking at E36s and it was selecting every car manufacturer on the list! This made it a lot slower than it was before :(

I like the fact you can filter it better now and it should be better once it's fixed. Having to go through EVERY E36 rather than filtering manual, coupe and 2.8L.

'I don't think that it's slow due to load issues, or being over used, as it's still dirt slow now at 2am in the morning - taking 10 seconds to load any page, sometimes up to 60 seconds.

It's slightly slower but I find it more functional and better over all.

But they do need to make it more efficient.

I went into A3's it had a few hundred, as soon as I applied any filters it dropped to 0, removed all filters, still on 0.
Why would you put such a buggy search live
