From what i have seen the limit is 975M, battlelog records it as 974M though due to a bug. 1 meter more and the bullet dissapears.

The people at the top apparently send their EOD bot across the map and burn their mates heads who are on the other team and it gives them the headshot, how true it is i have no idea but it souns like it could be possilbe....

I have a 4890, 6gb ddr2 and a c2d e6300 @ 3ghz.

Would I be better upgrading my graphics card or cpu? I've heard mixed things, some people say it makes really good use of extra cores, others say there's not much fps difference between a dual and quad core.

It's GPU demanding, but it's not to say the game wouldn't benefit from 4 or 6 cores, but i do know someone on here with an E8400 [i think] is running it fine.

It's not the cores that make the difference, it's the architecture:

In basic terms, the newer your cpu, the less cpu dependent you will be. I'm getting away with my 4870 playing this game on medium/high settings/AO+AA+blur off.

BF3 isnt really a cpu game. But if you get a higher end gpu like a 560 2gb (you need the 2gb) or any of the equivalent AMD card you will defiantly benefit from getting another processor if you play other games. I recommend the 2500k as ocuk have it for £160 :D

i can do ultra with 2xaa @ 1920x1080 on a 460gtx if i dont mind 30 fps and i only have a crappy amd x6 cpu @ 2.8ghz. (get stuttering once i run out of vram though :p)

im hitting around 50fps @ high settings with ssao , if i turn hbao on it drops to 40ish

the game just isnt demanding and is coded extremely well.
