is this guy for real? i mean more money then sense!

The only thing I took away from the video is that he pronounces the letter z differently for different components. Oh Cee Zee SSD drives and a zed 68 board. Choose your allegiance man! But yeah, that's a nice tasty build. I'm jelly

I could spend a silly amount of money (I'm not wealthy) but realising it will be out of date within a year always puts me off :)

Exactly! It's unwise building a whole new PC just to have everything new because it is more logical for individual components to become outdated instead of everything all at once surely - You can very easily keep older components and upgrade core things like CPU, GFX card.

Most of us on this forum already have super looking and well specced systems and in general I've seen people upgrade certain parts when they need to. Thought out upgrades *** :)

i've spent about 4k on my current setup; but the cpu, mobo, memory, ssd's, case, monitors, psu & watercooling will last a helluva long time.

only upgrade i'll be making in the next few years will be gfx.

sometimes you have to blow a wod on a pc, it'll last a while, and unless you have to have the latest thing all the time, you can save up in that time between new purchases

I spent £28 on my PC. Runs what I need it to buy might buy myself a 6470 to upgrade the gfx. Dont really want to spend £30 though.

Still. Quad Core with 8GB RAM and a 9600GS for £28 was probably the best I could get lol. Joy of salvaged components.

I really do not see the point in spending mega money on a computer. Nor do I see the point in calling it a rig. Its a PC. It does work and plays games. Joys of being a sensible parent now I guess :(

You managed to get that for £28

Im a parent with a rig :p

I did yes. Had to buy a 2nd hand mobo for £28 but otherwise rest is salvaged. Dead systems from people at work etc. Failed motherboards so they buy new prebuilts and I keep the parts as they dont want them.

It is in the cheapest case you can think of and looks ugly as sin but works fine for me :)

Case, PSU, Q8300, 8Gb RAM, 9600GS and a 500Gb SATA2 disk for nothing.

When you spend this little on computer kit, upgrades are hard to make. Would rather spend money on Lego than upgrades lol.
