Looking at the graphics between high and ultra there is hardly any difference that would be noticable when playing apart from the AA levels and that awful Post AA setting

Santa ordered me another MSI Lighning Extreme 580GTX 3GB for SLI last night :D

(game at 2560x1600)

Isn't an 850W PSU pushing it for 580GTX SLI?

Edit: SLI zone suggests 950W minimum for a corsair PSU with SLI GTX580.

I would agree. My two gtx470 in SLI (albeit overclocked) killed my Seasonic 850W psu and my motherboard.

Now have a lovely Corsair 1200W one now.:D

After the origin update this morning i thought i would give a repair job on bf3 and after it scanned the 11gb or so of files it found a 41mb or so update which it applied. Maybe it was some files missing hence disconnections or somit, hope so.

Anyone else have a 41mb update if they have checked a repair job on the game today?

Come on in for some Team Deathmatch fun :)

That's excellent, it confirms my doubts about wanting a 6950 to upgrade my DirectCU GTX460 Top - I play at 1920x1200 with a wide FOV (although the FOV change made no fps difference for me) and would prefer to use at least 2xFSAA as I currently play a mix of high, medium and ultra and get about 50fps average with no FSAA and only SSAO enabled although it does drop as the server gets busier.

It's clear that at least a GTX570 is required for my desire to play on Ultra with 2xFSAA minimum with HBAO enabled. A factory OCd GTX570 would be just perfect I think unless I can find a used GTX580 which would be next in line.

I will see what's available next week and go from there :)

Is the bigger drop in FPS with the 6950 with AA due to the card itself or more a driver issue do you reckon?

More than likely driver issues. ATI have never had the driver side of things sorted down to a T and I doubt that will ever change. It's the 2nd reason I was umming and ahhing about switching back to ATI this time round :p

I can honestly say that on my 6950 I don't notice any quality issues with MSAA turned off and post processing and everything else set to maximum on 1920*1080. The game looks gorgeous, runs like silk at all times and I never see any jagged edges (not for want of trying).

What's the rest of your spec and what in ambient + in action fps are you getting with it enabled and with HBAO?

BF3 is the game I will play the most from now on so a new card that runs it at max settings and also plays friendly with my other components is a must :p Up until now the gTX460 was the perfect partner for all FPS games for me :p

We have 20 members in our clan and have our own Teamspeak server:

Feel free to jump in :) It's a 64 man server running conquest but during the day it's lowered so it's get populated.

People have education and jobs at this time of the day, you bum :p

Even so, games like this are usually always packed what ever time of the day. Not everyone is at work at the same time. There were only about 5 or 6 full 64 player servers for conquest.

I remember scrolling through about 50 full 64 player servers back in the bf2 days

Getting owned so hard right now. Really hard playing with out a red dot sight or a scope.
