Been advised to get fronts changed ASAP.
Rears are 205/50/16

Im lookin at just getting the 2 fronts changed atm, whats other erm "valid" size options?

Thanks :)

One of those tyre sizes is wrong. Why do you have 205/50/16 on the rear and 205/45/16 on the front? Thats illogical as the rolling radius is different. If the rears were wider it would make sense?

Back tyres were odd and lil bro had a couple spare so just swapped em.
As for making sense none of this does to me :p

I can either match a pair of new fronts to the rears or as 205/45/16 are the standard as far as Im aware a full set of 4.

Was just lookin for alternatives to the standard size that wouldnt knock the speedo/mileage out too much to see if I could save a little money.

Keep the radius the same on all 4 tyres. Just use the right size? The saving can't be very big at that size anyway.

Been ringing round the local places, no one appears to have any wet or winter tyres at all.
Been recommended the following:

Avon zz3 - £100/ corner
Yokohama Prada spec 2 - £113 /corner
Pirelli PZero Nero - £139/corner (500 for 4)
Michelin Pilot Sport 3 £135.80 (Costco 20% discount if take 4)

All prices fully fitted/balanced.
Gonna have a look at some reviews and stuff and really need to get them sorted today.

Using the tyre calculator above 195/50/16 seems to be a viable option with a dia difference of 1.69% (10mm) if needed it would be ok to change to that size yeah?

Was reading up on the uniroyal RS and they seem to get good feedback but cant see any in my current size.

Everyones offering me budget or silly prices lol

Best options so far seem to be:

Hankook V12 Evo - 90/corner
Avon ZZ3 - 96/corner
Michelin PS3 - 135/corner (20% discount on 4 @costco)

Can't find the Uniroyal RS2 anywhere

Do the michelins on average last longer than the others I've listed?
If its a case of spending a little more now to get an extra few months outta them then I'm happy to do that :)

LOl I was literlly just logging in elsewhere ;)
My wipers arrived and was checking my emails which reminded me :p

Just had a call back from GReat North Tyres - 72.99/corner fo rhte Hankook V12 Evos.

you got MSN mate?

Aye tried to get them to Price match costco, no go, flat out refused lol.
asked them to price match the 72.99 for the v12 Evo's said they couldnt but they could do 150/300 for 2/4 fitted, balanced, aligned and filled with nitrogen.

Very tempted at that like, closer than the other place too I think so cheaper to get there too :p

Isn't that only a problem for 4x wheel drive?

Personally I'd just get 2 x RS2's from Costco. They use nitrogen on all tyres. I am a bit biased having 4 x RS2's myself :)

Narrowed it down after looking into it a bit and finding theyre all available locally for ~£300 for 4 fully fitted.

Hankook Evo V12's - 74.99
Uniroyal RS2 - 68.99
Toyo Proxe - 74.99

Little brother thinks I'm daft for spending so much on tyres for a car that cost 1800 and is recommending part worn proxes at around £25. He also thinks that the rears have plenty tread and I should just replace the 2 fronts, the diff sizes won't cause any issues with wear will they? Just wondering when I come to rotating the fronts to the rear is all.

Don't bother with part warns - tyres are the only thing keeping you stuck on the road! You don't want to be rotating, either. With FWD cars, you want the most tread on the back tyres. I'd get 4 x RS2's if I were you mate. But make sure it's a decent place you're getting them done at!
