with a direct debt u still can i think?steam guard + gmail two-factor authentication helps against these kinds of things a great deal. Apart from id theft, i'm not fussed with them having my credit card detail. Its the reason i use a credit card instead of direct debt, if i see something I dont recognise on my bill, i phone my bank and get the charges off.
The credit card details are salted and hashed, they aren't just in 'raw' form.
No? Steam guard is the thing keeping the Steam passwords safe...
People aren't getting the difference between the Steam forums and Steam itself. The forums have a completely different system.

The clue is in the statement, about watching your bank account closely, would you think they would say that if everything was hunky dory?
