Demo is out today on both HD consoles. Game runs natively at 1080p and 60 fps and is a traditional 2D platformer.

I'll be getting the demo but not sure if I'll get the game on the PS3 or for the Vita when it launches. One is 1080p60 and the other is OLED.

The demo is now up on the 360 Market Place - http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/Product/Rayman-Origins/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80255530884

And it's up on the US PSN if you have an acc, will hit the uk PSN later on.

I played the demo last night and thought it was simply stunning, one of the most beautiful 2d games I've ever played, the animation is first rate, the colours, the hand drawn assets, the amazing music, tight controls, day one purchase for me.

The only complaint I had from the demo was that some of the check points felt a little too far apart, aside from that though it's hard to fault the demo, really wish there was more 2d games that took advantage of current gen hardware.

sonic > rayman :p

I agree :p

But even the recent 2D Sonic games (#4 and Generations) aren't as good as they really could be on this gen of hardware.

Only New Super Mario Bros. has been any good as "new" 2D platformer IMO, discounting stuff like Limbo etc.

Also just noticed that Crash Bandicoot 1 2 & 3 and Team Racing are all free for PS+ subscribers. A few more games i have to play on my Vita when it comes!

I downloaded it but I went out while it was downloading and didnt get home until 11:30 to get up again at 5:30 so forgive me this once :p

I'll be playing it tonight for sure. Not that I think it will help me decide which format I want it on.

I played it last night, I actually have the game on pre-order but I'm not sure now. I thought the demo was good, looked really nice and brought back memories of the original on the PS1. I'm not sure how long I could play it for though as I have a feeling I'll get bored of it in a hour or so.

Thought the demo was very slick, great example of how to do a 2D platformer.

Still don't like the Rayman character itself though :p

Well it just got 9.5/10 at IGN so I'm keeping my pre-order as it's just "different" to everything else I have atm.

Have a very quick blast through last night, only played the first level but it played great and looked fantastic.

I have decided to wait for the Vita though, I already have a bunch of PS3 games and this looks like it could be perfect for the train to work and lunchbreak etc. Plus on that OLED screen it'll look dreamy. Plus the Vita version will be cheaper.

Going t try and complete the demo this weekend.

My thinking too - although less of the train and more of 'at work'. lol.

I always keep games like this, RPGs and SRPG stuff for handhelds. Suits them really well.
Although, the Vita is probably the 1st handheld where i'll buy other games too such as Uncharted and Wipeout for starters.

With the ability to suspend games by pressing the ps button it means that there is no reason any single player game cannot work. Gone are the days of needing to find a save point or wait for a cutscene/battle/match/race to finish.

Yeah. that's one of the absolute best features on the PSP and one I didn't know about until a friend told me.

Simply flick the pwoer button and it goes into standby mode, and whatever game you're in sits exactly where it was when you did it!

Being able to do that on a handheld is essential really - nothing worse than needing to stop playing while in the middle of something.
So yes, now that you can do this it makes other game genres much more accessible.

Also on the Go (and I think the Vita) you can just create saves wherever you are too. So as well as the standby option you can just save wherever you are.

If you use the standby option you can't play another game, if you use the save anytime option you can play another game and as long as you don't use the save anytime option in that game then you can just load the original back up and carry on.
