Hey,
I openly admit that I haven't looked into building rigs since I changed jobs just under 5 years ago. My computer (as well as being outdated) has broke and although its salvageable I think I deserve something new.
I'm behind the times but I've put the following build together. Does anyone see any obvious pitfalls I'm missing?

wait... do you even need thermal paste with a watercooler?! All the useless information my brain stores has pushed out a lot of the useful information I now require lol.

You still need a thermal interface between the two parts (cpu heatspreader surface and the underside of the cooler) luckily the 620 comes pre-applied with some decent silver based thermal compound.

What resolution are you going running at because the 580 is probably overkill, you're better of getting a 560 and saving that money to upgrade the card in 12 months time.

Also get an SSD it'll be the best £130 you'll spend

Also the i7 is not worth the extra £100 over the i5 2500k IMHO, shocked at how expensive the i7 is

Switched to this then. Really appreciate your thoughts guys. Saved me a good chunk of change!

Currently running dual monitors 22" widescreen at 1680x1050 but thinking of changing for one big screen with the next pay packet.
