The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I wonder if that's a certain sound card issue, mines set to it's default 24bit 48000hz Studio setting without any issues but have seen so many people having to lower theirs to get past the intro.

Yeap I think so, I have had to do that before as well on a game or two. I think I need to invest in a real card and stop using onboard.

Uninstalled, didnt work. Repaired through steam, didnt work. Sat through 15mins of spiralling chaos as the cart made its way along only to hit a tree and get stuck. Obviously didnt work.

Fed up, royally.

That sucks. I haven't even seen that issue crop up on the bethseda forums :/ Haven't had an Ati card for a number of years but try reinstalling/updating physx if it uses that and your drivers.

This game is amazing. I strongly suggest running to your quests rather than quick travel, there is so much to see!!

I am 8 hours through and haven't even touched the main quest since I left the 'tutorial' section at the start!

Love it.

btw to change the timescale(first thing i do in these games) open the console and the command is- set timescale to #

I don't know what the default is, but i think it is around the same as Oblivion and FO3 which was 30.

What 3D solution are you using? I am using Tridef with my Ati card, i think i heard somewhere that this didnt support 3D vision?

So if your using tridef too its good to hear that it works well :)

Edit: Nevermind, just noticed your monitor + gfx card in sig. So 3D vision does work with this game then?

Yep, the only issue is with the sky and some water reflections, no other artifacts noticed. game is rated as 'excellent'

Anyone know where the fighters guild is? I suppose i should go and do something normal like that before i start losing the x4/5 per level training.

YOU CAN QUICK TRAVEL!? I SPENT AN HOUR TRYING TO GET SOMEWHERE EARLIER.

Two questions (without having to trawl through this humongous thread)

Is anyone else suffering from Artifacts near water/some indoor areas?

And is there anyway to quickly switch between Favorited items. eg. I have a sword and shield equipped and I quickly want to heal myself. Is there any button I can press to quickly switch instead of having to press Favourites and pause the game each time?

Cheers.

If you've already been there you can just click on it on the map to quick travel. The main hubs also have wagoneers that will take you places even if you haven't been for a few gold.

If there is one tip i could give anyone starting the game it would be do not use quick travel very often, especially on the first playthrough. It is handy if you get stuck, or want to try something out but the game is so much better if you travel everywhere

I love the way your character adjusts his feet correctly to the terrain, it makes him look an awful lot more natural :

Some of these screenshots are incredible!

Then you'll always have the people that ignore the glorious mountain ranges and focus on that rock at the bottom right-hand corner. :p
