My little boy is about 18 weeks.

Ever since then when I see things on tv when kids are in trouble or hurt, be it real life or fiction, it reallly badly disturbs me. Dont get me wrong it was never pleasant in the first place but now it really freaks me out and makes me really uncomfortable.

Anyone else get this?

when ever I used to see babies before I had my own kids I used to think, ugg not another ****ing baby but now as a dad I`m like awwww look at the little baby lol

Yes I do and I am sure all parents do, having kids realy makes you realise how innocent and vunerable they are, that infamous James Bulger photo where they are leading him away realy gets me :(

Mine was just BSG earlier in the fourth season, she was going to harm herself and the baby and I didn't want to watch at all in case something happened to the baby :(

Welcome to being a parent.

Absolutely. Our son is 8 months old.

In the space of 22 years I have attended one incident involving a child fatality and it was not pleasant, obviously. However that was almost 13 years ago now. I'm pretty sure that if another crops up in the future I'll more than probably look on it in a different way.

On a more positive note, I also find I interact with kids with more enthusiasm now, with a better understanding of them.

Yes, the process of becoming a parent unlocks a more powerful set of emotions. Kind of wonderful.

An excellent description and so, so true. :)

A lot of great parents in this world but also a lot of sick twisted people that should never be allowed to bring a life into this world but unfortunately their is no law saying people cant reproduce.

I read that earlier, absolutley horrific :(

but unfortunately their is no law saying people cant reproduce.

Think it was Terry Pratcheet, in an off hand comic manner saying "people should need to pass more than a physical test to have kids" he was joking, I thought it was a great point!

New parent syndrome. Suddenly everything is either dangerous to their child.

By the way you never stop worrying but just learn not to be so much of a pansy. Trust me.
