Check that the bottom weight isn't starting to crack or become loose, this can cause the machine to become unstable and cause such loud noises. Only cost you about £16.00 - £20.00 to replace, instead of buying new. ;)

hi thanks

check the bottom what?

thing is I think the bearings are gone the drum is very loud
when it spins it sounds like there is a metal ball in there

also noticed that it is very loose
someone on here said it could cost up to £150 to get it repaired
Now I'm now washing machine expert but if it does cost that much maybe it is time for a new machine

we've had it for 11 years hotpoint as well

In before Dimple...I was the Quality Audit Technician for 27 years man and boy but they sacked me and my friends. Now I am bitter and have to **** Hotpoint/Indesit at every opportunity. ;)

Miele or Bosch

Had my Bosch wm 8 years, only one new pump & a drive belt.

Bosch fridge freezer about 10 years, tumble dryer at least 12 years , both have never gone wrong, & never been repaired.
And a Bosch egg boiler about 8 years.

What I've found is that newer cheaper brand appliances tend to be made out of cheaper lightweight materials that are more flimsy than they used to be.

true say!!! I've seen that far too often

we got a fridge here whirlpool
almost 15 years old my god it has been totally violated to an extreme proportion lol I expect it to break down tomorrow
