Power supply freaking out

Ok not really certain if this is the right place but could anyone give me a hand with this.

Was playing skyrim there and after a while my PSU's fan started going absolutely mental, going at full speed and reving up and down every few seconds.

Kind of worried, Is this a sign that the PSU is knackered really?

I've got an FSP everest 1000w cpu, I know its not the best PSU but I've had no issues with it for the past year.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

what graphics cards do you have, and what are you planning on upgrading to in the near future? tell me that and i can recommend you a decent PSU

I've got a GTX570. Planning on adding a second in soonish / upgrading to the 600 series when there eventually released.

Also planning on doing some overclocking.

There are others of course, but you get the drift. Don't skimp on the PSU as it will last you several builds and you'll want a quality PSU to power all that expensive hardware! Which one you opt for depends on what efficiency you're looking for, whether you need modular or not and how much you want to spend of course. Hope this helps!

current system 550/650w will be enough, but as you plan on sli then 750/850w(750w will be enough but 850w for the extra headroom if you wanted) will be needed.

Ordered a XFX 850W one. I'd like abit of extra head room. Plus it did very well in reviews.
