Motherboards woes... confused.com

I ordered the Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard last night in the blowout deals, I now see that these boards have had there share of problems, so another choice will have to be made......

Do I get :-

Gigabyte Z68X-UD5 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

MSI Z68A-GD65-G3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard or

Asus P8Z68-V Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard [90-MIBGC0-G0AAY00Z]

Or any other suggestions?

Help would be much appreciated, I know a lot of people have suggested the UD5 yesterday but that was before I considered the MSI boards with the 20% cashback.

As I've only had gigabyte boards before I can't really comment!! Deffo due an upgrade as this one is nearly 6 years old now!! :rolleyes:

I have built four pc's using the Extreme 4 Gen3 board, & I haven't experienced a single problem.
No inverted mouse issues, updated bios to 1.10 via windows, so easy to do.

That's good to know have you oc'ed much and what CPU are you using?

Nice to know but so many people seem to have gripes/problems with bent pins, not booting, mouse issues etc. I wish more would say how good it was as I've ordered it!!

Good board using one at the moment which I built last week,no issues to report so rock stable,HardOCP have reviewd the normal non Gen3 version and thought it was great ,http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/11/10/asus_p8z68v_motherboard_review.

After a lot of panicking worrying etc.

I am going to see how I get on with the Asrock......... well I need to buy the rest of the kit first anyway. That just leaves i5 or i7 decisions :eek:

I almost got the Asrock board,was my second choice but got the Asus P8Z68 V/Gen3 for £135 so can't complain

I know how you feel,my other PC was 6 years old too.

I'll say I'm impressed with Z68 SRT ssd cache technology ,very speedy from what I have seen in usage.

Usage?

Gaming = i5 2500K

Video/audio creation/gaming = i7 2600k/2700K

i5-2300 in two of them with 8gb of XMS3, & 2500K's overclocked to 4.6ghz with 16gb of Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey in the other two.

If you google anything you will see more complaints than praise. Have you got a link to any of these issues you mention? "Inverted mouse" ? Literally as it sounds? Bent pins? That would only ever be user error surely? Boot issues...can you expand?

I got one of these for a build I am doing for someone on the blow out deal too. It looks a very nice board to me and features new PCI-e 3.

I went with 2500k(gamer here) and Corsair LP Vengence 1600 DDR3 1.5v ram in blue(to match my slots) however if I had the Asrock Gen3 would have got black ones to match the slots

Hmm. I swear some people are just overly unlucky lol. I will see how I go with the Asrock Extreme 4 when I get it.
