Kindle - Can someone explain something?

I really don't see the point in these things. You are paying £89 (for the cheapest) to read a ebook that costs as much (and often more than) a proper book. Give me a physical book anyday.

Spoken to a good number of book readers who thought the same as you, who have now been convinced otherwise...

Might not be what your after, but there are 7" android tabs on a well known auction site going for circa 60. can do a lot more than be an ereader.

The kindle e-ink screen is much easier on the eyes than a phone or a tablet.

I have a 2nd gen kindle and use the kindle app on my Galaxy S and my transformer, nice touch is books from the amazon store sync aross devices, so when I'm stuck on a train and I pick up my phone for a quick read, it's automaticaly synced to the right page.
