Anniversary Map Pack

Now that the relevant playlists have been covered, we should probably touch on the multiplayer maps as well. The Anniversary Map Pack, which includes six multiplayer maps along with one Firefight map, will be available on November 15th for 1200 Microsoft Points. This means even Halo: Reach fans can take part in Anniversary!

Before we dip into each of the maps, I thought I would walk you through some of the different scenarios you may find yourself in on November 15th. Halo: Anniversary and the Anniversary Map Pack are two different pieces of content, so here are the various ways to access the maps.

• If you own Halo: Anniversary but not Halo: Reach, you will launch the Anniversary maps from the disc menu.

• If you own Halo: Anniversary and Halo: Reach, we recommend installing the maps using the Anniversary Map Pack code that comes with Anniversary. You will then be able to launch the Anniversary maps from both the Anniversary and Reach menus.

• If you purchase the Anniversary Map Pack, you will install the maps like any other piece of DLC. You will then be able to launch the Anniversary maps from the Reach menu.

I'll probably still buy it as the 1200 points cost cash :p.
But it's good news for the community and life of Halo:CE :)

Bland and generic never saw what all the fuss was about to be far.

I agree, I thought it was quite rubbish at the time and still do.

ha, either a fan boy or never played the game back in the day

A fanboy for not liking something?

So because somebody doesn't like the game and has a different opinion, he is right away accused of never playing it 'back in the day', or a 'fanboy'? How do you cope with day to day life with people having different opinions? It must be terrible.

Personally, i dont think it can be called bland and generic as it spawned the way for a true FPS on consoles and brought console multiplayer to the masses. If you look at any FPS brought out after 2001 on a console, a lot of them look the same, and personally, i think its becuase halo showed how to do a console FPS

I'll give you that. It did bring the multiplayer FPS on the console to the masses but that's only down to Xbox Live being available.

I believe Goldeneye was a million times better (SP/MP), even with only having 4 player split screen (no online capabilities). This game in itself set the FPS blueprint for consoles imo.

Find and replace Halo with Doom/Golden Eye/Half Life.

Probably not going to get this, at least until it's uber cheap - i have the PC version which is still really good and has a lot of players (at least it did when i last played, which admittedly was over a year ago). But watching some or RT's videos brings back a lot of memories of when i used to play this with my brother...

Kree, if you did that you'd have to replace 'console' with 'PC'.

Amen, Half Life didn't have such an effect on the consoles (as it wasn't available til much later); but arguably a lot of what Halo did was refine, and combine, ideas other games had had at the time. Not that that's a bad thing, Halo is still a good game, and the most 'open' of the Halo games we've had (which I guess could perhaps highlight its original intent as a PC/Mac game).

GoldenEye, Doom and HalfLife are still the bigger brothers of Halo in many ways though, and whilst Halo is important, as along with XboxLive it introduced a new generation and console gamers to ONLINE gameplay, I do think it is given too much importance, especially by the Xbox crowd, as given some of the feedback you'd perhaps consider it the first online game, or perfect, which it isn't.

This being said, I don't disagree Halo was good, I have fond memories. :)
