You get a quest to kill the bandit leader but then you can get another quest (which is the starter quest to join The Companions) to kill the SAME bandit leader.

The bug is that if you have already killed the bandit leader when you pick up The Companions quest it doesn't register than you have already killed her, complete itself and let you hand it in, it's a shame that the quest doesn't require an item to be picked off the body as proof as that would work fine (I know this because I have already killed someone only to be told to go kill them and get said item off their corpse).

I read a a few pages back there is some stone that you can find that resurrects the dead around you once a day, I'm wondering if this will assist me in killing the bandit leader a 2nd time and thus completing the quest... off to find out :D

I would agree that the melee combat would feel better with a controller and I think that if it had a manual melee combat thing like Dead Island did it would make it even better.

But for archery or spells and general walking aroundedness it has to be the mouse.
 
I have begun levelling my two handed weapons skill and have got it to about 40 - i then quite and went back in-game and noticed if I look at the skill tree it says 25 in red? Any ideas why it's showing up like this? I have no diseases or curses that I can see in the menus.
 
I've tried in the gfx card forums but not had a lot of input today.
When playing Skyrim I get a ati driver has stopped responding and crash to desktop within 2 mins on loading.
Driver is now up to date, Hl2 lost cost on stress test doesn't crash.
GFX temp is in low 50 degs, tried the manual fan speed at 100% in case it is over heating (unlikely brand new card on Fri).
Found a few things about sound setting and tried all of them and nothing.
Anything else I should try?
 
I have two arrows stuck in me. They won't go away, not even after sleeping or using healing potions.

Great looking game, got it running on Ultra with a few tweaks.

Have you tried running without your cpu OC? Just as a general troubleshooting step, even though it appears to be a GPU issue.

Open the console & type 'sexchange' then 'sexchange' again to change back. This removes them apparently. Might want to back up your saves first as I havn't tried this myself.
 
I'm having no issues with keyboard and mouse personally.

Anyone else having trouble doing the first Thieves' Guild quest? You're supposed to steal a ring when the guy is causing a distraction, but no matter what I do I get caught :(
 
Im ashamed to admit that i had to turn the difficulty down from adept (forgot what the one down from that is called).

I put 380 hours into Oblivion on the hardest difficulty, i consider myself pretty good at RPG's.

I dunno if im just playing this poorly or is it because i struck out miles away from the starting area straight away and almost every dungeon i came across i got my ass handed to me. These dwarven robots we're just messing me up big time then this other dungeon with these falkar guys.
