Setting up Ipad out of the box, recommended settings, apps that are a must?

some of my fave apps are

  1. Flipboard
  2. Sky Go
  3. Channel 4 OD
  4. ITV Player
  5. iPlayer
  6. iBooks
  7. Angy Birds
  8. Real Racing HD
  9. iFooty
i use Flipboard everyday for catching up on facebook and Tech news, but you can also customise what news you view as well :)

Torch [P4]:

Wow Flipboard is amazing with twitter. I get many links to articles in my timeline and Flipboard puts browsing or "flipping" through those on a whole new level.

Osmos!

As for the third-party video players, whilst they're handy for playing all manner of formats, chucking the likes of high def MKV files on there quickly eats up all the space so I prefer to use Handbrake to resize them down to the iPad's native resolution as they're far smaller and the built-in player will handle them fine.

BBC news app is good.
Highways agency iphone app for travel news
Any bank you may have accounts with probably has a nice banking app.
Find my Friends
There's a good selection of free calculators, unit/currency convertors and weather apps (never quite sure why the iphone gets a weather app in iOS but not the ipad)

It's just different - on the iPhone there's a dedicated button for Search but on the iPad it's a box in the top right corner (although not visible on all screens) as there's more space to play with.
