So im flicking through the channels and Vernon Kays on ABC hosting some show or other, but something just didnt sound right.


probably been told to change his accent so the yanks can understand him. :D
 
Yep still sounds pretty much the same to me, he's probably just had to clean his accent up a little bit to stop the yanks getting confused.
 
Hardly posh, he's just dropped the strong accent. Makes sense if he wants to make it in America though.
 
sounds different to me hes obviously attempting to speak more clear for the dumb americans who cant understand foreign accents which is ironic since different parts of their own country sound so different to everyone else
 
I genuinely hate Americans.

The majority of them are stupid and so over-dramatic and I think Vernon Kay is a right ****.
Sorry if you are actually American OP.
 
I recall when this was airing in America and they seemed to really hate him. Their biggest complaint was they couldn't understand his accent :s Not sure why..

You're calling Americans dumb yet you have no idea what irony actually is.

There is absolutely nothing at all ironic about Americans complaining about foreign accents while other Americans have thick accents that are hard for you to understand.

I find thick Scottish accents hard to understand, is it ironic for me to find it hard to understand some one with a thick South African accent?
