The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

What does trigger the finishing moves? They're very cool but I have no idea what makes them happen  It doesn't consistently seem to be low health/stunned/knocked over, just seems to happen at random.

Not sure if it's random or timing related but when blocking with a shield if i swing instantly after a block i tend to either shield bash or shield bash & impale the enemy. not 100% sure but it does at least seem related on that side, or when someones just starting to take a swing at you you can kind of intercept it. Given till we will pin it down :D

Well anybody worrying about the companions quest, i patched my game to the latest patch and when i went back to the dungeon all the bad guys where there again, so it didn't bug.

Only just really discovered the power moves, either that or its because i have assigned some perks, there crazy powerful with the big old hammer.

Amusing things so far, trying to do some wandering about in the outback only to get owned by everything, managed to run into some vampires yesterday, i killed one as she was approaching but then her friend resurrected her or something, so next thing i have two fighting me!

Dropping a knife in the companions place because i didn't want it, only for one of the NPC's to give it back to me!

I must have the most random character ever, a two handed sneaky archer, who also dabbles in blacksmithing, lock picking and archery, my sneak level is flying up though, at level 13 its already nearly at Level 50, i am starting to feel like its a bit overpowered at times.

I think it might be down to stamina, I think I was critkilled because I was out of stamina.

Why exactly have they made interacting with a follower more fiddly? The companion wheel from fallout worked well and so far no-one I've travelled with have had anything interesting to say. It's a shame that they've gone back to the FO3 system rather than emulating the NV interesting backstory's.

Once you have killed the first dragon, they will then spawn at random..the first is scripted though

Ahh ok! Better get on with the main quest then xD Have they levelled Dragons relevant to you? Kind of like enemies in Obliv etc... where they level with you and stuff, so it's always a challenge to kill, but not ever impossible...

Have about 50,000 questions, but feel like I should just get on with the game and only ask people when I find bugs xD

Well I can honestly say I am very happy with this game. I was unsure if it would run OK on my spec. Duel Core AMD and GT440 graphics card but once I turned of most options and had character draw distance on far I am very happy with it. Constant smooth running game play with only a jitter once in a while inside or when its really sunny outside.

I have only put in 4 hours or so and not far from level 4. I have got my Thane title from that bloke after killing the first Dragon, that took a few attempts though. Completed the first dungeon with the Golden Claw and the Dragonstone. That was big. Probably took up 50% of my gaming time.

I haven't even scrapped the surface with the skills and what not. Very big game.

One thing, the spell books you buy (Tomes?) once you buy and read do you get to keep that spell? Is it only scrolls that you can use once!!?

companions quest - what is that?

I've had 2 companions, one from the first town and one after the first dragon... They both long dead!

Bit of advice,

Im currently level 14 and have spent all my level up`s in Manna and my perks in Destruction and restoration.

Is it too late to turn my mage into more of a battle-mage role? Or am i going to run out of perks? how many do we get anyway, is it 50?

I also wouldnt mind levelling up enchanting a little, but not sure which way to go?!?!
Max level is 81, so 80 perks probably.

Correct. Scrolls are one-use. Spells learnt from books are added to your spell list and can be used over and over. You can sell/discard the book once read and you'll keep the spell.

There are certain perks to increase chances of finishing moves, but in general it seems to be a random chance, getting increasingly likely the lower health they. and indeed you (I've been beheaded a few times!) have.
