Decent tourney, looking forward to the next one already!

Reckon we could look into a prize pot? Like £1-2 entry, winner bags a tenner or something?

Hang on A2Z, yeah you can be at home but i just need to sort some stuff

The joys of double elim, he has to beat you twice to win the tournament, you only have to win once...iirc

Only complaint I have is the penalty, I pressed to the side, but I think it was too late :(

Yea was always gonna struggle if it got to ET vs your players, oh well not bad. Congrats on winning :)

Well you did exactly the same with your first penalty in the pen shootout last game so I thought you'd go down the middle, beside, it wasn't a pen, just the usual FIFA ****. Surprised Lukaku AKA God couldnt score mind.

Nice thing to organise Sean, one question though, why not do round every half an hour, the first round at 8, then 8:30 etc.? That will make it more organised and also speed up the tourny as a whole?
 
Why start so late?, have the first few rounds on saturday, then the last few on sunday, or just play through the weekend without schedules, that could take away the point of the tourney though, just a thought.

Grrr...I wrote a long reply then accidentely deleted it. FFS!

I was saying, like Anksy suggested, make it a weekend thing, start it Friday night or Saturday morning then it gives players the freedom to get their games done. If a player hasn't posted in here or logged into Live by Saturday afternoon kick them.
 
First of all I'd like to say thank you to everyone that participated and stuck with me for the whole night.

Secondly, congrats to Andy for going undefeated! A2Z put up a good fight but it wasn't enough. Special shoutout to Robi for losing his second round match but tearing through the losers bracket to reach the semi-finals. :)

Sorry to those of you that I had to DQ and to those of you that missed out. It's obvious that there are still some issues with the time frame of the tournament. We're already getting some good discussion going on how to solve this, thank you. :) A final decision will be made in the next few days.

I've updated the first post, which I would advise you all to check now and then. Any important information like time or rule changes will always be found there.

Thanks again, and please continue the discuss possible improvements to be made. :D
 
As I mentioned in the main Fifa thread, using IRC to arrange matches could well make things a lot easier!
Let me know if you want the details again.

Ah, that was actually something I suggested in the main post but I eventually took it out because I didn't think people would warm to the idea. IRC would have course make getting a hold of people a lot easier. It's not hard to load up a web client and leave it on, so it's definitely a possibility.

I think for this to go more smoothly and quickly we'll need to be more strict with time. If everyone was to show up around the same time and play their matches it would only take 2 to 3 hours instead of nearly 6! Either we do it all in one night and give people a short time to show up for their match (or they're DQ'd) or we do it over a Saturday and Sunday.
