New build - new case - old habits

Hello,

I'm going to put a new system together shortly and I'm finding most of the component decisions are fairly straightforward, now that the AMD Bulldozer doesn't seem to be much of a challenger.

In my current build I'm using the Antec P180-B:
http://www.antec.com/pdf/flyers/P180I.pdf

What I like about it:
  • It's big and just about roomy enough
  • It's elegant
  • It doesn't have a window
  • It's quiet
What I don't like about it:
  • The front panel USB connectors broke within weeks
  • cable management isn't great and it feels cramped for such a big case

I'm trying to find a case for the new build (the old build is going to the GF, who is still running my old Barton machine  ), which is about the same dimensions ( 54cm (H) x 20.5cm (W) x 50.7cm (D)) as I am loath to go any smaller (fat hands). Any more than 10 cm bigger, like a full tower, and it won't fit under my desk.

I like some of the features of the cases I've been looking at here at OCUK, especially the emphasis on massive, slow fans, buttons and ports on the top front edge of the case.

I'd like the case in black, preferably.

Many thanks for your expert ideas! :D

I suggested the 932 because the OP doesn't want a mahoosive case as it wont fit under his desk. The 932 is a reasonable size, but far more likely to fit than the HAF X.

(If you want the exact sizes OP, just ask as I have the 932 myself)

my bad :) the downfalls of skim reading.... haha

or theres the NZXT phantom or the silverstone raven bouth roughly the same dimensions as the 932 i think but both completley different although the raven is longer for obvious reasons

I'd have to say the P280, it's shorter, but wider and deeper - it's basically a new P180.

The compartmentalising disks and PSU (seemed like a good idea at the time) is gone, and now has proper cable routing behind the motherboard.
I can't speak for the USB connections breaking, I have a P180 and mine are still working fine.

The P280, 500R and 650D are my shortlist for a new case right now - I just need to stop finding other cases I like
