Running BF3 and Afterburner is showing me 99% on first GPU and around 60% on 2nd ??? 1920 X 1200 all set to ultra on game and using 2 x 6970's

On the 2nd GPU the line looks very erratic up down up down and so on??

I have read that most with Xfire will get 99% on both GPU's I have the Xfire logo up on screen just to make sure I know I am in that mode, is it me!!!!!

Are you running the latest drivers and CAP?

I think it's 11.10 with 11.9 CAP 4

Yes it is.

I get pretty much even across both GPUs with CAP4.

Edit: Do you have the cards in 16x/16x or 16x/8x? You can see in the Catalyst Control Centre, bottom tab and under hardware. That could explain an uneven balance.

Yes I am running 11:10 with Cap 4 and I am using 16x16 lanes on pci
But I will look at bottom tab on hardware.

Thanks for your help guys.

Edit: is afterburner reliable ? I tried to use GPU-Z but was getting 60% on main card and when I selected the 2nd GPU it showed no GPU ussage at all ????

It sounds like Crossfire is working but your not getting perfect scaling, you might want to try clocking your CPU higher and see if that makes a difference otherwise you will have wait for newer drivers for better scaling. Bear in mind the game is still new and AMD are good delivering consistent performance improvements every month with their driver releases.

Have you compared you FPS to what others are reporting with the same hardware?

Yes crossfire is working that's for sure, i have gone as high as i can go with my overclock what ever i do seems to hang the computer so i gave up :)
FPS compared with similar does seem to be about the same.

i have read a fair few people say they have 99% on both GPU's i even put everything on ultra but mad no difference.

Well at 3.6Ghz I doubt there is much of bottleneck but you could prove it by dropping it down to say 3.2/3.4Ghz and see if your GPU usages falls away. Do you know what FPS you getting? 1080p Ultra no AA outside around 60 FPS is the norm I think for BF3 with that sort of hardware.

99%/99% here on a pair of 6970s, albeit on an i7-2600k at 4.6Ghz.

Could be that you're CPU bound, otherwise maybe you're already hitting 60FPS constant? Is V-sync on? Try switching it off and see what happens then.

As others said, what FPS are you getting?

If you're getting about 60fps then I wouldn't worry about anything.

Don't know about 1080 as I am running 1920 x 1200 sorry to sound dumb but if I lower the CPU what should happen to the GPU's ?
I do not have V-Sync on and my FPS could be anywhere between 120-34 I would say average I'd around the 70 mark

Its strange as first time I run Afterburner 1st GPU was 99% and the 2nd was all over the place hence the start of this thread but I closed afterburner restarted it and both GPU was was showing around 50-60% ?? I just find it strange that people with the same cards get 99% so if it is 99% does it mean the there CPU is not creating a bottleneck ??

Thanks for all your input guys :)

Guy in another thread the other day had a similar issue, only 60% on both cards, whittled it down to his CPU not being uptown it despite being a 3.6ghz clocked quad (965 be).

It was supposed to say up to it, my phone decided otherwise lol. I would say so, similar symptoms to the other guy.

LOL ;) thanks though,

I surpose it's not just the CPU it's the whole Architecture CPU memory bus pcie GPU bus the whole shebang  Mmmm what to do ? What I will say about the game is that in most places plays smooth until I go onto 64 man servers the wow 35-50fps is that net code or my CPU falling over??

Would I go for a 2500 or 2600 intel? And is it the K ? Plus motherboard and memory, if you guys have any good suggestions that would be great :)
