The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I really enjoyed Oblivion when it was released. Especially the Thieves and Dark Brotherhood missions. Is Skyrim as good, if not better? I'm undecided whether or not to part with my dosh :D

Doesnt matter if you wondering. I spend all day going around town looking for the best price, even though i wasnt sure. Got it of gmg (eventually) for £30.97. Do it now, you will do it adventually.

Is anyone else's Skyrim crashing on game load?
It was playing fine, then I updated my gfx drivers and edited the .ini a bit, now it's not loading.
I tried using the backed up .ini, but to no avail. I've reinstalled the latest NVidia drivers, tried the audio fix, even deleted the game off Steam and reinstalled it completely. I've tried it on Low/Ultra Windowed/Unwindowed, etc etc.

Any suggestions?

PLEASE

How the eff are you suppose to defeat like 4 falmers that just rush you? There arrows just take me down, Not even getting close to beating them. Im level 10

We're getting the same ******* questions asked every page, do any of you know how google works? You type in a question and in all likeliness when you press enter you will have an instant answer.

I think most people fixed that crash by turning down their windows sound quality to 24bit 48khz or something along those lines.

What happened to being abl to see your character when you swap items on the inventory screen.

yes I miss that character view.

Your stuff has a transparent background so just turn the camera to face your toon and you can see the items being equipped.

I do agree the UI is bad but there will be mods soon for that so I can live with it for now.

My gripe is that once you select Items there is no way to get to your Magic unless you tab out and in again, there is no back button as such.

Oh and NUDE MOD ***! :D

Dirty B. :p

I take back what I said about there being no back button I just clicked to the left of my items and it went back to that screen. But it wasn't really obvious.

I'm sorry, but if you are saying that you have not installed the nude mod then you sir, are a liar!

:p

I still seem to come up against quite a few enemies who can very easily kill me, and if there are more than 2 or 3 i have no chance if they rush me. Is it just me or are Spriggans really tough now?

Just figured out how to respec myself with the help of a few console commands, now rocking with heavy armour, but then I find a light armour helmet with 100% magicka regen on it, just to taunt me.

Why, god. Just why? Why must you torture me this way?

Just got done faffing around making all the gear to make the gear that was going to make the gear. Ended up with around 1800 armour, 75% magic resist, +70 stamina and health, +72% mana+ health regen, +47% bow damage and +188% 1 handed damage. The dual 1 handed daedric swords now say 486 damage each on them :p

Interestingly i could have put the +72% mana regen on the helm, necklace and chest giving 216% regen which is better than any mage robes that i've came across. The -22% cost to a school of magic you get on robes can also be added to the heavy armour at 36% instead meaning crafted heavy/light armour is better for mages than their robes are. Shame you can't put any +magic damage % stats on anything though.

Apparently I heard that magic resist is capped to 85% in Skyrim .... :x

That makes Bretons useless in the long run.

Though 25% magic resist plus 50% spell absorption for a minute is uber in the early game when you are really squishy, everyone can get up to 85% magic resist by the end.

You must be like a ****ing fortress, can anything even hurt you? :o

GRRR BUGS!

Has anyone ahd problems with the light puzzle in revealing the unseen?

All the videos show a beam of light but i dont have any beams. Only solution is to turn on wireframe but i still cant make out the lights properly.

Any help?

Just tested it on 2 giants and it took each of them down in seconds, they still hit me for about 1/4 health though. Need to try it with the elemental fury dragon should as that stacks with dual flurry from the perks tree for propellar like dual wield action :p

Bear in mind it is a cheat character to test out crafting properly, i still need 8 more levels on my proper toon to add all the +1 handed damage enchantments etc.
