motherboards are ~£200+

the cpu you've chosen is oem so no cooler with it, the best air coolers are

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-078-TR&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-001-PT&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat= comes in 4 colours.

the problem is the fins on the ram you've got will overhang the ram slots and the fins on the ram wouldn't allow it to fit under, you'll have to fit the cooler the 'wrong way' I'll leave it to someone else to explain(or will post back when I find the thread where this guy does the explination).

cutom water cooling and closed loop liquid cooling don't have problem with the ram slot overhanging.

sb-e ? I didn't think I would need anymore cooling , I don't want to watercool but what would you suggest air cooling wise ?

SB-E is Sandy Bridge E, the new chips that came out today.

I think the all in one watercooler such as the Corsair H80 is great as it is quiet (my H70 keeps my i5 overclocked under 50 degrees @ 4.4ghz) but i have no experience with air coolers, I think these are great though.

Also, what are you using this beast for? :D

I'll give that processor a pass, I really want to stick with the 1155 socket.
I added an air cooler.

Dunno, that's a lot of money for a computer. Motherboard is 2x the price of a decent Z68, Jesus Christ! And wow £180 for sound? Love the case and PSU though.

So can't say really, but I'd add a top cooler to overclock that baby, otherwise no point.

The Holy Trinity are the Noctua NH-D14, Thermalright Silver Arrow, and the new Phantek Ph-tc14pe, comes in all sorts of colours. If you want black, I would go with the Thermalright True Black and some decent fans. Might be a problem with tall rams, so maybe a water cooler.

BTW, look up the red FT02. Really nice look, if a bit flashy.

3D art (3D modeling) / Photoshop / sound engineering (making sound effects) / gaming / Media (Movies , music ect)
I hope to have this new system for as long as possible and upgrade as I go along until it becomes redundant.

Do I have to add all 3 fans ?

you've added all 3 cpu coolers, you can only have 1. they go ontop on the cpu so how do you plan on fitting 3? ;)

Dude hit refresh, Fixed that error lol. late night Blonde moment.
added a corsair liquid cooler instead.

Corsair Hydro H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/LGA2011/AM2/AM3)

I most definitely need to add you to my contacts, so I can link you to the thread I create on here when I start building this machine.

from what I've read the h100 and the case you've chosen don't mix well, the case is one of the best for aircooling but bad for watercooling.

I will go with an air cooler then.

which of the trinity do you recommend ?

Noctua NH-D14, Thermalright Silver Arrow, and the Phantek Ph-tc14pe

Or is there any other good liquid coolers that would fit in this case ?
I'm trying to figer out how to make the cooler work with the ram so I don't have to do that complex process to cool my cpu that you said a guy described in another thread.

just noticed you've dropped to 6950 xfire

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-042-HS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752 £10 cheaper + 3 games tho not sure if the cooler is 2slot or 3slot

if thats an issue then maybe http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-128-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752

or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-272-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752 if you go 3 monitor eyefinity this card makes it easier as you don't need to worry about the usual rule of having to conect 1 monitior through the displayport connector on the card(having to use an dp->vga/dp->dvi/dp->hdmi) adapter, instead you can coonect all 3 via dvi.

my fave is http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-274-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752 but only 1 left, you can unlock this to 6970 via flick of a switch(no gurantees tho) no bios flashing needed saving £40 compared to the 'good' 6970s).

Thanks for the graphics card recommendation and advice , I may wait for the 7000 series yet and get a 7990
and just get one 6950 as a place holder, if the 7000 series is not out when I'm buying a graphics card.
What do you think ?
by the way
What fan for my CPU do you recommend that wont interfere with my ram ?
or is there a equally good alternative to the silver stone fortress 2 case ?
