OK first of all, I'd like to state that I am not a conspiracy theorist/nut. All I want is to discuss why "Illuminati Symbolism" is included in popular media such as films and music videos.

So, last night I was watching 'Secretary' (2002) when I saw the following:

Why highlight this word? I can only think of the following reasons:

  1. The producers were completely oblivious - highly unlikely as they must have read it.
  2. It's some sort of a joke to feed the CT nutters - most likely IMO.
  3. The producers are part of the illuminati and are trying to raise awareness of it in order to get more members - also highly unlikely IMO.
What are your thoughts?

Yes it's a misspelling of 'illuminating'. Why choose that word though?

Also this isn't limited to just this instance, I'm talking about symbolism in other things too, like music videos and other films.

No, you are talking about what you think is symbolism for the illuminati

I'm not a conspiracy freak in any way shape or form but watch any Lady Gaga video and pick out the symbolism. Also watch Jay Z/Beyonce videos and their concerts.

I've heard all the wild rumours about the illuminati controlling the music industry, 2 pac told them to do one and he was found dead amongst other artists? Probably a wild theory but it exists. I'm not saying I believe it at all!

The symbolism is everywhere. Saw a Loomis van the other day, too. They have a 'masonic' logo.

The starting post in this thread is poor. It's a worthy discussion because the symbolism is frankly everywhere in popular culture and debated over quite a lot.

That image shouldn't have been used as an example. You should've opened the thread in another manner.
