Show examples of illuminati symbolism in movies and music prior to 2000 please. Surely our illuminati overlords didnt leave it at the Beatles and then do nothing before rap music came along?
the symbols become a part of society in general, I could draw a picture with one in, it doesn't mean it has any significance.
Combine that with the usage of them a lot, especially in all the films you've mentioned, as a symbol of the occult and other sub-societal things.

Think about it, someone has to ok what goes into these videos, who is this, there has to be a reason to put it in there in the first place, perhaps it's a joke or maybe its like gang signs showing whos really in control?

Im sure there will be a few kicking about just by nothing more than the fact symbols are used and have been used for eternity, especially stuff like the eye of horus which is on the dollar bill.
If I was the illuminati, I dont know if Rihanni or Jay Z mentioning the illuminati would further my cause, that is what is ridiculous about such conspiracies.

aeon flux, samurai jack, tomb raider - it's meant to represent something mystical/occult
terminator, mario bros, trading places - just ridiculous CT nonsense
given up at this point, but really can you not see that where there actually is something it's for a reason. Masonic symbols are seen as symbols of secrets, mystery, the occult. 95% of the time they are very obviously being used as such.

Well w.r.t. lyrics, generally it's the artist or person who writes the song. This may go through an editing process but generally the lyrics are appropriate to the music. Often I would suggest that references to the illuminati or otherwise are buzzwords/sensationalised concepts, blowing a reality (the fact that we do live under the rule of groups called governments, which can include corruption) out of proportion. This sort of thing is found in pretty much all aspects of music, not just commentary on the 'status quo' in world politics. It's the same sort of license taken in poetry and styles such as magical realism in literature. Hence movies like pan's labyrinth as mentioned earlier in the thread.
So when we have such a well known idea as this great 'illuminati' concept as well explored in popular culture by Dan Brown (along with many other fiction writers, as well as storylines in other media such as video games), it provides an easy means to this sort of end.
I would argue much the same way with videos.
Maybe I'm wrong though and music artists and directors of music videos are the only people with the means to tell us about the great conspiracy...

The Godzilla one made me chuckle though, I would loved to have watched the guy who discovered it as he discovered it just to see the look on his stupid conspiracy theory face.

It's not just the pyramid and eye you see, theres the sun and snake, a few others as well, there seems to be a lot of egyptian type symbolism around, look at the kind of monuments and architecture you see in many big citys, very interesting.
Edit: i just want to say i don't take this stuff that seriously, i just find it interesting.
