Would You Fly By Private Jet If You Could Afford It?

No I'd hire one when I needed it and hire the best rather than spend stupid amounts of money keeping a crew on standby.

I used to look after many of the larger Gulfstreams and Globals for many of the celebs and rich/famous and I'd rather hire one of them when needed than ponce about in some **** citation or learjet :D

Yes, until I got my helicopter license, and even then yes for long distances.

Presuming rich enough to fly by private jet means rich enough to learn to fly the things and buy an awesome heli.

Pft, helicopter license? Everybody knows that helicopters only fly because they're so ugly that the Earth repels them :p;)

Priced up a flight, £5k vs £150 one way from England to Spain

Is flying by private jet 33 times better?

Yes

Also you could get 4 people one way for 5k.... albeit in a rather small citation aircraft.

and as easy jet won't let you snort coke off the naked bodies of the three eastern european chicks you decided to invite along as guests I'd say a private jet is the way to go.

I don't know, I think I would just go first first first class all the time, less fuel wastage :D More environmentally friendly!

£5k was per person

I would probably try it, and it would be novel to walk in and out of the country avoiding customs checks (allegedly...)

I think on the possible safety aspect I would avoid private jets.

Its much less likely my competitors can mess with the landing gear on the A380 I might get on compared to my own personal plane.

Rather fly first class on a major airline to be honest. Those little private jets are too susceptible to turbulence.

What type or private jet are we talking about?
if i had enough money to keep and maintain a customised A380, yes otherwise, i'll pick class dependign on flight duration. for short trips to paris or other fairly close (less that 3hrs) destinations, economy can be considered dependent on season, longer flights say 3hrs+ business or first
