The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Thanks for the advice. :)

One other thing. I heard in a post before that you can steal clothes of chicks, how do you do this without killing them as i cant seem to pickpocket their clothes while their alive. Sounds fun to do thats why i am asking.

Hit level 36 tonight with 100 smithing and started making daedric stuff as the dragon armour doesnt appear to upgrade as well? (even though its lighter)

Got some rather sexy items though, including a helm (face mask) which makes me look like Dr Doom out of the fantastic four which is supposedly one of the best helms in the game and I just literally got the mace of mol barag, which has a unique model and skin to it with a rather nice on hit effect.

My only issue is how the hell can you get a weapon to legendary status when it won't allow you to upgrade it anymore on the grinder? I have 100 smithing with all of the perks for it apart from glass chosen, yet can't put my new mace past flawless :(

I had to use a blacksmiths potion just to get it that far lol.

Anyone have an idea about the item levelling in Skyrim?

In Oblivion, the higher the level you were, the better the quest reward you got in terms of it's stats, etc. I'm just wondering how it works in Skyrim, which level will yield the best rewards every time?

I'm kinda reluctant to upgrade my Thieves Guild armor until I know if I should be a higher level first.

Some quest rewards including that armor are set to the level you get it, it won't improve as you level.

Here's a list of which items that applies to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Leveled_Items

Found the e somit or other mine near starting village whilst on the hunt for some wolves. Didn't think i would do it since its so late but i attempted it and thought it was pretty cool and not as many bad guys in as i'd thought their would be in. Sneaking was fun lol. Got some ore with the pickaxe near the waterfall and got a ton of gold and goodies. Shame when i went to sell all the expensive armor like 75 for some of them the trader in the starting village gave me crap prices even tho when lookin in inventory it was a lot more. Plus i had that amulet which gave 10% better prices. :(

Still was fun and the nude mod is mint, shame i cant take the clothes while alive tho as still not found a way yet even tho someone here said its possible.

Damn tired now tho.

Managed to craft a few things so their "fine". I can level up but duno which perk to get so many choices :( i was gona pick bartering for better prices but duno if thats the smartest one to get early on. Which would be good at the mo for me? Im crap at picking the right things lol.

On a side note, I am quite annoyed to discover that it seems every unique item in the game, both weapons and armor, is leveled, which means if you pick up a good unique weapon at a level below say 35, it will slowly degrade is usefulness.

This was a **** system in Oblivion and I have no idea why they decided to continue with it, it makes the few unique weapons in the game a BAD idea to get before late, late late game so are of a sufficient level to trigger the most powerful version.

Hopefully some helpful member of the community will take it upon themselves to make a mod fixing this god awful idea Bethesda had like they did in Oblivion.

I was wondering this myself earlier and what a stupid ****ing decision they've made... It screws anyone out of the better rewards just because they did the quest at a low level. It wasn't a good idea in Oblivion and who ever decided to carry it over to Skyrim deserves a slap

Embershard, if I remember correctly. First thing I did after escaping Helgen :p

I find prices are always terrible from vendors (I got offered 27 gold for Dwarven boots!), so I'm not too bothered about having to leave inventory filler loot. I'm having to less now I've put all of those dragon bones and scales in my house though. Those things weigh a tonne!

As for perks, it depends what kind of character you're playing. I'm a Wood Elf archer/thief/assassin type, so mine are going into sneak and archery most of the time, plus some points in one handed to increase damage output for when I'm sneaky enough to get close with daggers, and some in light armour. Being sneaky means you don't get hit often, and therefore don't build armour proficiency, which means when the inevitable happens and you get into a direct confrontation, you get pummelled.

I'm finding it way too easy to get distracted in this game. I have some cool screenshots of three dragons within about a minute of each other, plus the unluckiest lucky man alive :D

I also have one of Riverwood's new town monument :D

I never played Oblivion beyond the Thieve's Guild and Dark Brotherhood missions (everything else felt crappy after those missions), and never got on with Morrowind (although I did attempt to play it on the original Xbox!), but this game is amazing. The first game in a long time to truly pull me in :)

They mainly just scale from your skill with w/e type of item it is rather than level. As you level up a skill and spend perks you will see the stats increase on stuff you already own, an Iron sword you picked up at lvl1 will have the same stats to you than one that just dropped at lvl20 or w/e. Level effects; the material type of the item available (the higher ones have a slightly higher base damage/armour) and then the quality of the enchant. However on fixed items I imagine the enchants are also fixed at the level you pick it up at.

Hmm, steadfast ward dual cast doesn't seem to show any benefit in the powers page, anyone know if it actually does anything?

Best looking light armour I've seen so far. Hard to see but there's tiny green lights where your eyes normally are (click for bigger image if you want). It's hood is actually a hooded cloak too.

60 hours played, level 32 or 33 ish. Love this game so much! still got loads to do. Dwarven ruins are really nice but one or two of them are just a total labyrinth. Found my first piece of Daedric armour last night in one of them so must be near enough at the level where I'll start seeing that stuff more. Wish you could craft arrows! :/

Love it!

I can't decide what I want to be yet really. Currently, I'm running around using magic + a single handed melee weapon. But I always play melee classes in this kind of games. Think I will have to be a full on mage. Just will make me quite squishy. Anyone got any good tips on being a full mage?

I am thinking of re-rolling a full on Mage now. I am currently level 4 I have my Housecarl, Lydia, downed my first Dragon ( the scripted one) went to the Greybeards to get my Shouts added ( Just needing Dragon Souls to unlock them ) and cleared a couple of Dungeons. Generally I have just been messing around finding out how to play it and see what there is around.

If I start a new character now and just do the main quest chain will I level up accordingly so the difficulty will be same as me? If you know what I mean?

Does merchant gear change randomly or 24 hours because one had some sweet gear, purchased the wrong item so reloaded my game save & it totally changed. Another time I didn't have enough coin so came back after a few missions & changed again.

Not sure if it changes based on time, but I started a game once and the first shop had iron ingots, then another time I played, he didn't have any.
