TR SIlver Arrow ETA date?

You are best off asking in the Customer Service Pre-sales section as your question may not be spotted by any shop staff here :)

They've been out of stock for weeks now (everywhere) but a post in the above mentioned forums is worth a try.

However RJK (OcUK staff member) eluded that they were 'rarer than hen's teeth' in another thread so OcUK themselves may not be able to give you a definite eta.

The Noctua is more expensive but is a comparable alternative if you can't wait (i have both).

A quick google search will show some retailers who list them as in stock, all around the £60+p&p mark but I have never bought from any of them, so I have no idea what their service and CS is like.

Good to know that places are now recieving stock.

Perhaps OcUK will be able to give a 'probable' eta as they rate the product highly and many forum members are/have been after one. I got mine from them via an eta and it turned out to be spot on - pehaps you'll get the same luck.

THe problems with other retailers is that they don't ship to continental Europe, and finding SA in Poland is rather impossible. OCUK is my only hope :P

I put up a webnote asking about the ETA last wednesday and got a no exact ETA on these although they should be back in within a few weeks...

Wondering whether to hold fire and wait as I'm waiting on it as a back order as rest of my kit arrived a few weeks ago or do i take the plunge and ask for it to be changed to something else... But not sure what to change it too..

If you're not desperate for it i would wait as the price to performance ratio can't be beat.

However, if you want something comparible with regards to performance and relative silent operation then the Noctua D14 is virtually identical. The only downside is that it's ~£13 more expensive.

If you get the Noctua D14 and use the same fans as what are on the Silver Arrow and use the Chill Factor III paste that also comes with the Silver Arrow, you should get lower temps with the Noctua D14.

Will cost a small fortune in the process though, the Silver Arrow is really good value for money.

That's just one review - different reviews with diffferent setups vary but, on balance, the two coolers perform the same - nothing really in it.

The only main difference is the price which is what makes the SA so appealing.

Both are great coolers.

No the main difference is you CAN get the Noctua easily, the SA is never in stock so it doesn't matter how cheap it is if you can't get one ;)

Hehe, this was true but they can be found if you shop around - but admittedly they're not as readily availible as the D14.

However, the above is acedemic for the OP as he needs OcUK to have stock as they ship to continental Europe.

If he has the extra cash and needs the cooler now the D14 is a great choice, as mentioned before.

I had the same problem when building mine I actually wanted the SA, but couldn't be bothered to wait around so got the D14(on special offer) and it's been fabulous.
There's also the Phanteks PH-TC14PE to consider now as well ;)
