Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

on bc2 i could rack up 30-40 kills on one map fairly regularly on bf3 important lucky to get 15+...the game is not as action packed for sure.

Play 64 conquest metro on hardcore, very easy rack up mammoth scores. For me battlefield should have more tactical moments, I don't need every map to be a COD meat grinder affair. Maps like mastuur city, dragon valley and kubra dam are badly missed in BF3 and that's why players are bored of all the current BF3 maps all ready, there is no depth to them.

Right time to comment, umm invr while a bit cheap isn't that big of a deal in my opinion, sure you can see people in a bush from time to time but i am rarely hiding in a bush and that is the only situation i can think of where a person isn't an obvious target... sure it still needs a nerf but nowhere near as badly as tac lights and the new favourite the DAO with frag rounds do

Other than this i dont understand the hate in this thread, im currently around the 25 hours mark and have loved it all, some people seem to complain the maps are too spread out and you spend your entire time running around in a circle capping points while others day the maps are too squashed and everything happens at one point.... bit of confusion there, in 32 player conq i have definitely had the issue of by the time you have capped one point the one you have left has been uncapped, the fix for this is to pick a high value point and set up camp, if its a vital flag then the enemy will come to you so you will score loads of points while winning the game for your team.

ps. have also been lacking friends to play the game of late (first week there were like 10 of us), i dont know where they have all vanished but i will come on the proper ocuk mumble (previously using the ocuk LoL mumble) this evening.

Am getting quite reasonable with the jets, should be a game or 2 away from rocket pods, i do hope they get me some ground kills as i find the draw distance in planes so bad that by the time i can see a tank i dont have time to shoot it with the guns, that is unless i dont mind hitting a lamp post as im flying at ground level

Depends entirely how you play.

On more than one occasion I've finished a Rush match on Metro with over 80 kills as an attacker. It's entirely down to your play style, what game-type you're playing, and of-course, how good you actually are at the game.

id say im pretty good and no one in the games I've played at 32 man servers get 80+ kills.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Not been reading much about the game on forums excreta. Are you aware of any plans for the developers to change it?

as i understood it dice/ea said they had sorted it when the demo was out, but like a lot of things it was just BS, so don't expect anything anytime soon :(.

Helis and planes should not be as easy to take down as they are....IN THE AIR.

No one should understands that.

i agree if they stay at a decent height, but sometimes they are really low and it shouldn't take as much as it does to take them down.

Since when was there a demo out? I remember a closed Alpha, closed Beta and public Beta.

It has improved since the beta - they've most likely been tweaking with variables in their net-code, but by no means is it perfect. It's not something a simple "patch" could probably fix either, as they would need to change a fair size of their net-code client and server side.

@Running Man - no two rounds will ever be the same, so scores will never be the same. As I said it's entirely down to how you are playing. I've now lost count of the servers I've been kicked or banned from for apparently "obviously hacking". Some people have issues with being beaten. A lot of it comes from the majority of the time I have an element of surprise, I know where to expect an enemy to be, and I can react quickly and accurately. The majority of random public games are full of casual gamers. Playing on clan servers gets a bit more interesting but still 9 times out of 10 I can finish on top, even with them using external voice comms. Most of it is down to how I play the game.

Question about kicking... Me and some friends were on a server the other day and through the course of the match we we're back to the Battlelog with the message "Server Disconnected ()" on a few occasions (it's an 800 ticket infantry server, so the games last a while)

Were we kicked? We were, winning rather well, but I'm not accusing them if I have no proof. It's never happened before, or on other servers or since, just that one match. But I'd of thought it would tell us, or does it depend how they kick you and with which 3rd party add on they use?

The first thing I would do is make sure that the server is still up. If it is then you can safely assume that you were either kicked, or your game genuinely crashed. Personally, I've never had the game crash to desktop without a server going down. Server Disconnected () is usually the server timing out from what I can recall, whereas Game <somethingorother> () appears when kicked. Can't completely remember though...

always play on a server that is higher ping, I am based in sweden, so I dont play in swedish servers (11ms or so)due to people with higher ping gets a silly advantage its just sad.
so, since the game is nood adapted its the higher ping player that see your face and body still even if your think your behind cover.
I got shot, standing behind a wall, 1 second after.
That is silly in any fps game.

I try to find servers with 40-80ms for me where the game to a extent makes the playfield even.
Noobs who cant even aim gets rewarded by high ping just sucks IMO ;)

If they kill u then they can aim, just on their screen u r in a different place from where YOU see ur soldier :p

 This man needs a medal and a straight-jacket!

Is Origin down at the moment? Can't log in :(

It keeps saying my e-mail, origin ID or password is incorrect then after a couple of attempts it logs me in offline and says authentication failed :S

Whats going on?? Anyone know?

last release i consider a demo as it was purely for server loading not sorting out game issues that they'd "already sorted, its not a problem, remember your playing with old code".

and it wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't decided they needed new net code, realise bf2 etc wasn't brilliant just guess they couldn't fix the issues they had on that :(.
