Hi Guys,

Ive been asked to look at putting apple TV into the meeting rooms at work, now hardware wise hooking them up shouldnt be a problem.

I was wondering if this has ever been done by anyone here? the idea is that Ipad users would be able to use airplay from Ipad to the screens? Does the ipad need to be paired to the Apple TV? can we have multipul Ipads paired?

if its anything like my airport express (airplay) its just a matter of choosing an "output" within whatever application you are using, so i have one in my lounge - and i can choose to play music through my iphone, or "Lounge" airplay speaker.

As for multiple connections i do not see how that would work tbh :?

only one person would be able to display their screens at one time anyway?

No need to pair, make sure the Apple TV is named something obvious, ie meeting room 2.

Then people can select meeting room 2 over airplay and display what they need.

Also worth noting that a lot of people never bother updating their devices so may have mixed success with display mirroring.

Works a treat, really simple to use as above. Worth noting that on a very large screen you"ll notice mirroring is not full screen, it must have a maximum output display. For example on a 42" you'll have quite big borders all around the mirrored screen.

If they are just airplaying content direct from an app, eg. not mirroring it will be full screen however.

Slightly OT. So if you were to play a game over airplay, would it not be full screen?

It's probably something to do with outputting a 1024x768 resolution onto a TV that (I assume) is set to 720p via the ATV2?

We've done this for some customers for classroom type environments. The only issue was connectivity between the AppleTV and existing projector/screens onsite. That cabling was a bit pricey, other than that issue, works like a charm.

Not necessarily - if I select zoom on my 42" Panny then I get full screen which is actually an exact mirror of what is on the iPad. I had thought it would cut off some of the content but strangely it doesn't.
