Hi guys been offered Ford Ka 1.3 1299cc 2005 for £1300 with Tax and Mot been garaged most of its life but is it worth buying ?

Done less than 25k

They are horrid cars and we've written them off through rot at mot time at that age...

Just because you think its horrid doesnt mean its only worth £300.

Its like me saying an Audi A3 diesel is worth -£100 as thats how much you'd have to pay me to have one. My personal tastes and opinions have no bearing on general car values and neither do yours :p

Theres just so many little hatchbacks that would be a better buy than a bleedin' Ka...but as usual, i suppose its the 'ooh look, low milage' thing kicking in.

They do rust, but they are far from "horrid" IMO. In fact they are quite fun little cars, albeit a bit girly.

What would you recommend for a similar size, age and budget?

Our lass works in insurance, they got one of the motor lines folk to run a query and the Ford Ka was the car that came up as the lowest insurance risk as the system they use has no record of one being stolen whilst insured in the last 5 years.

They're a blast to drive if you are practiced in conservation of momentum. The rot can be pretty spectacular though I must admit.
