Australia v South Africa - Cricket

GKirsten left Test at lunch day2 with SA on 49-1. Return after tea on 72-1. "Has it been raining??" he asked. "Err, it's 2nd inns, coach..."

He left to see wife Deborah in hospital after birth of number 3 - a girl to join sons Josh & James...

From 240-4 to 266 all out, another collapse!

I can't believe they're only having two tests for this series. If I was from either country I'd be outraged.

Before this series I thought the Saffers were going to have it in the bag, 2nd in the world and have a very strong batting and bowling line-up in comparison to the Aussies who have 3 very good reliable players(Clarke, Hussey and Watson) and then the rest are either unpredictable(Johnston), out of form(Ponting) or completely ***** (Hughes).

Been a good series just because South Africa have that ability to implode without reason and the Aussies are very unpredictable so can do exactly the same. Shame it isn't a longer series really.

2 match test series are the most useless things on the planet. They really need to be done away with. 3-5 Test series are the only way forward.

It's also really confusing how some big profile series [Like this] can have 2 matches, yet something like England v Bangladesh will have 3 tests.

Looking at the FTP for the next few years, there's a ridiculous amount of 2 test series. I hate them. There's no competitive feel to them at all :(

EDIT: Looking at that list, I'm at least happy for India. Their next 2 match ODI series is in 2015, against Bangladesh. But there are a few random 7 match ODI series, WTF

Jacques Kallis is such a brilliant batsman, his just so great to watch whether in T20, ODI or test matches. He has the ability of changing a game, which is a sign of a great player. Easily my favourite player of all time. It was a shame there was a batting collapse but hey that's what can happen in a game on cricket.

Yup, stupid pajama cricket but the Indians love it, so pajama cricket it is.

Tests should be 3 or 5 Tests and ODI series should be 5 games max, yet somehow you get these ridiculous 7-game ODI series and 2 or 4-game Test series to allow them to play more stupid pajama cricket instead, it's retarded.

ODIs and T20s aren't stupid mate. Far from it actually.

Actually it sounds like you're blaming the Indian fans for the amount of ODI cricket being played

The Saffers made 229/3 today, so that's a lead of 199. Still all to play for really, but the Aussies will need to get stuck in as quickly as possible tomorrow.

So they made 339 in the end, and the Aussies got 142/3. Looks like they've given up for the day though, so tomorrow ought to be an exciting run chase!
