Best cheap-ish soundcard?

Hi all,

I've been pondering over getting this for a while:
Asus Xonar Xense Sound Card + Sennheiser PC 350 Xense Edition Headset

Now while I suspect it's a pretty good deal for what you get, I don't think I can really justify that much money for a gaming PC.

So my question is, which is the best cheap-ish soundcard for gaming on a Win7 PC using headphone or 2 channel speakers?

I really just want something better than onboard sound that wont cause any compatibility issue or conflicts. But all I do on the PC is game and maybe watch DVDs/Blu-Rays, no seriously music work or anything.

So what are my best options?

This is what I'm wondering. I really don't know much about audio hardware though, so I don't know if this is worth getting or if it will likely cause more issues.
