Asrock vs Asus Z68

Stulid Which would be the best motherboard for around £200? I'm looking to get 2700k asap.

Soz for thread hijack delpy8

A better/easier overclocker??

If it has the Turbo50 function in the BIOS like the Z68 extreme4 does, then you can pre-select a range of speeds from 4Ghz, 4.2Ghz, 4.4Ghz, 4.6Ghz and 4.8GHz. This still keeps the speedstep working so it runs slow when not doing anything and runs fast when under load.

The Asrock Z68 Extreme7 also has a NF200 chip so increases it PCI-E lanes and can also run three/four GFX cards.

Depends what you are after in terms of features also, if a pair of GPU's (crossfire/SLI) is all you want? then I can suggest a few cheaper boards,

Thanks for the rapid response fella, much appreciated.

Will take a look at both of those, Crossfire/SLI could come in handy but I just mainly want a good overclocking board.

Are these both good clockers?

No problem ;)

Cheers ;)

Well overclocking does also depend on the chip ( but most 2700K's are getting 5GHz and cooling)

The Gigabyte with its 12 phases VRM circuity should overclock better, the MSI has 8 phases, the UD5 thats on special offer has 20 phases but is lacking two of the three features that a Z68 board should have,

Lucid virtu
Quicksync.
