Ok, so i got my 2500k 6970 rig in a 600t case at uni with me and i need to take it home over christmas (can't possible go that long without gaming). I still have the 600t box and foam, so it will be packed back into that but im wondering if im going to need any additional supports on the inside. I have a Vantage ALC cooler so thats not too much of a worry but i dont know if i would risk damage moving it. Just need some advice, cheers.

P.S, my mate has the same issue but he has the dark rock advanced cooler so any tips on supporting that would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for replies :)

the only thing you risk damaging is the graphics card since you have a water cooler. generally its best to remove the graphics card and package it separately, but i havent bothered when ive moved my PC around and its been just fine

if your going by car i would suggest lying the PC on the back seat on its side so the motherboard is at the bottom, then strapping it in as best you can with the seatbelt

I think i will remove the GPU, thats a great idea. Since i still have all the packaging for it that shouldn't be too difficult at all.

HAHAHA, have you seen the size of a 600T box? i think it is far too big to strap in, but thanks for the advice. :D I will definitely lay it down since i did think of that after posting, should be easy transport.

Might just make sure all my screws are tight as well.

Thanks to both of you

really? very surprised at that, seeing that seatbelts can fit around even the fattest of people. generally i strap my elite 342 in the same way as a lap belt would and there's yards of seatbelt spare

Remove the GPU. Then put the box in. I put mine on the back seat flat (motherboard not upside down) and the chair manages to hold it in fairly well (Lancool K62)

I'd also take out the Soundcard if I were you. I did take my CPU cooler off coming up here, but that's up to you really. Decided I'm going to come back to Uni early and spend two weeks at home over xmas rather than having to worry about getting it all back home again...

Humm, maybe im wrong, i suppose seat belts are pretty long but its is a truly enormous box. will have to wait and see, exciting :p
